Given that, I'd have to go with an extreme metal band, probably grindcore. Most likely Converge or Insect Warfare. I'd need something to motivate me to eat a bunch of gross **** I wouldn't normally eat for survival and chop down enough trees to make shelter and a raft to attempt to GTFO.

I couldn't do any of that listening to, say, Radiohead.
Good point and in that case I would pick The Dillinger Escape Plan or The Red Chord. All albums by both bands get me pumped up. Converge is a great choice too.

Hell yeah. I saw Dillinger once again in Chicago a couple months ago and it was amazing as always. For Red Chord I think they started recording a new album in 2012, but are now on hiatus since the singer became a Boston police officer. Hopefully they finish the album and tour again. They are one of the best live bands as well.

because of the amount of music he put out, bowie is a very good choice.

the stones are a great choice for that reason as well.

Normally we get along just fine but anytime somebody mentions Nirvana you become some half-assed music critic with a chip on your shoulder because they ended the popularity of your beloved glam metal gayness.

Go listen to Stryper and whack off already.

Dep and the Red Chord have some of the best live shows to be had in metal. Guy and Greg are amazing frontmen who give it their all on a nightly basis.

I'd place Jacob Bannon in that list as well, rounding out my top 3 with actual order irrelevant.

If I were to pick an artist, I may go with Zappa's old pal Captain Beefheart.
