Ever since the War, chechens have spread around the world doing odd jobs. And most probably these two kids were manipulated and hired by a bigger organization.

I do feel sorry for Chechen people who will ultimately be discriminated against by morons because of this.

I agree, it'll be a real shame if that happens. I honestly don't think this is related to Chechnya.

i remember a few weeks ago some poster went on a rant here about "WE HAVE NO BUSINESS IN AFGHANISTAN. THERE WAS NO WMD FOUND IN AFGHANISTAN. WE NEED TO GO AFTER AL QAEDA."

i wish sometimes i can punch someone thru the internet.

Even if the country somehow was involved that doesn't give people the right to discriminate or hate legitimate, honest Chechen people living in the USA or elsewhere.

The scary thing though the reason why people are paranoid of ******s is because these bombers and so called extremist, were Kind, polite, friendly, and always smiling.

Not the typical psycho bomber profile, this is why people are paranoid.

Is it as simple as this? What percentage of the people of Chechnya wanted independence?

Without looking any numbers up, and considering its been a long and stories conflict dating back hjndreds of years, I'm going to venture a guess and say a significant portion of Chechens wanted independance.

In any case, does any number/percentagr provided to you negate the fact of what Russia came in and did?

Chechen-Russian conflict goes back hundreds of years. Independence is not about majority vote
