Granted, referendums aren't the most common way of achieving independence however the electorate of "occupied" countries vote for parties whose policy it is to push for independence.

It is wrong to hold people against their will. If Scotland vote for independence in their referendum next year, so be it.

It would be unfair to call Americans educationally deficient. Unfair because they won't know what those words mean, and dictionaries are "for ******".

It's seems this snide little comment is all you have.

I knew a person like you in my personal life once. He was just brave enough to make a passive-aggressive comment, yet too cowardly to elaborate on it when asked to.

At least he had the balls to make the comments face to face.

How am I gonna be too scared to elaborate on a comment on the internet?

Obviously I know next to nothing about your views, but if they include harbouring a negative attitude toward a whole nation of people then I think I have enough information

Well, I saw your name in the currently active user section, but I guess you were just twiddling your thumbs.

If I do harbour a negative attitude toward an entire group of people, that is none of your business. I said "I don't need an internet doofus telling me how to feel about Chechens". You said I did. Therefore, you think everyone has to feel the same way about this as you do. Sadly (for you), other people's emotions and attitudes are not your property.

What makes this all the more di****able is that if this were a right-leaning white male, people of your ilk would be doing everything possible to connect them with the tea party, the **********s, or some other right-wing group. Remember when that nutcase shot the congresswoman a couple of years ago? People from your side of the political divide were saying it was because Sarah Palin had crosshairs on her tour advertisements. Now that the perpetrators of this attack turn out to belong to that warm, cuddly ****** demographic, it's straight into damage control.

If you want blame people for having a natural instinctive response to an act of brutal slaughter, do so. An easier way to prevent the hostility, however, would be for a certain group to stop perpetrating terror attacks every 6 months.

I'm not American so I don't give a damn about connecting things to the **********s.

Anyway, the "blame" culture is harmful and short-sighted, and if you do some proper thinking you should realise it. I'm not telling you how to think, I'm just encouraging a more broad-minded approach to the process.

You say the easiest way for the hostility to end is for "a certain group to stop perpetrating terror attacks every 6 months." Clearly it's not the easiest way as it's not happening. People don't just decide to be evil. If the whole world understood causality and was able to understand differing points of view, it would be a far more peaceful place. But very few people have the patience for that and so resort to "kill the person who did it, and damn all the rest who happen to be from a similar background"

I have noticed that the number one argument for bigots on the internet is "It's a natural response."

Uh, bull**** it is. Not if you have any functioning brain cells.
