I was late to the party...After reading this post, you fully understand the position.

    Never mind the above post.

Deion is the best CB I've ever seen. Champ Bailey is 2nd. Revis has a chance to be top 3 but I'd really like to see him play a few more years before making it official.

As of right now, Deion is head and shoulders above Revis

*** Deion. Go do a bunch of coke with your coked up brother Micheal Irvin. Dallas Cowboys of the 90s were a ***ing disgrace to worldwide athletics.

But as far as who is the better shutdown corner, it's Revis, imo.

But Deion is the better overall player.
LOL Don't look at stats when it comes to Deion, especially the mid years in Dallas. Teams became so terrified of him based on reputation THEY STOPPED THROWING THE BALL ON HIS SIDE OF THE FIELD. I was watching. And the times they would test him and do it, he'd pick that sht off, which would just reaffirm teams' paranoia and they wouldn't throw the ball anywhere near him again after that.

Madden used to talk about how bored he must get during games having half the field to himself. lol

The ONLY real knocks on Sanders was that he wasn't a tackler and he was prone to get eaten alive covering Jerry Rice (but c'mom, it's Jerry Rice - the greatest wide receiver of all time)

Dude was just money outside of that and was the fastest player in the league until his mid 30's.

IMO, Revis is the better CB overall. He's tougher, stronger and doesn't give you an inche on underneath throws. Plus he's smarter.

Sanders is impossible to beat over the top. Probably one of the best to erase his own mistakes. But he was just too soft.

both are great but I would give it to Revis.
Sh** like this is how I know there are people posting in this thread who never saw Deion play, at least not when they were able to actually analyze and appreciate what he was doing.

He's arguably the best defensive player ever in his prime. You usually bestow that on lineman and linebackers, but I can't think of a single player other than Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White or Deacon Jones that could take the game over as a mere individual from that side of the ball.

He was like an offensive player on defense he was so good. I still remember that one hand snatch from Steve Young. Steve just got defiant of everybody being scared of throwing Deion's way, he throws some little post to Jerry and Sanders just monstered that sht. The ONE TIME he throws it at D it gets picked. I laughed my ass off. Most corners even the best ones, have 0 awareness on actually being an interceptor and that play would've been a completed pass, but D was a freak like Bo Jackson. Don't let him see the ball.

At best corners just break up plays and what I'm talking about just would've been an incompletion. But not Prime, Prime will snatch that ball AND be a scoring threat off some seemingly harmless pass. I think Steve tripped him with his helmet at the end of that one and stopped D from scoring (lol) good thing Steve was fast and a scrambler or that would've been 6 by Deion too.

I'd take Rod Woodson or Darrell Green as the 2nd best corner I've seen play personally.

Hey who is the better RB Barry Sanders or Frank Gore?

                  I mean seriously?

Deion had a hard time tackling. Ask yourselves which corner is better at covering a Wes Welker or even a Brandon Stokley type receiver in the slot one-on -one ?

Without the sidelines to help, I see Welker gaining big yardage after the catch from short passes in the middle of the field. It's an almost automatic touchdown against Deion one-on-one.

Because of his tackling ability, Welker would not gain as much against Revis. It's not an automatic touchdown one-on-one.

Again, I'm not trying to argue Neon Deion's "vertical game." He's the greatest "vertical corner" of all time. But seeing him trying to push receivers out of bounds after the catch without trying to wrap them up is a major flaw in my view. Revis with his abilities can cover a Randy Moss and a Wes Welker while Deion can only cover a Randy Moss type.

Some people asked about Nnamdi being a better CB than Revis. I believe he is. For the same reason people think Mark Sanchez is actually a good QB is why people think Revis is this ATG corner already. Playing in the most famous city in the world tends to get you a little more exposure than playing for other teams. American media nuthugs NY players to the umpteenth degree. Look at how famous Keyshawn Johnson became just from being a Jets receiver, he wasn't even that great and was a locker room cancer. Joe Namath, almost universally acknowledged as the worst player in the HOF.
