If ESPN was all over Ritchmond's balls, you guys would be too.

None of the players I listed were in big market cities. Moncrief was in Milwaukee, Ro was in Dallas(before Dallas blew up as a bball city), Clyde was in Portland, Reggie in Indy.

Hell Hersey Hawkins went from Philly Charlotte and Seattle. Not all these teams played in LA, NY or Boston. Hell, Sprewell started off in Oakland, just across from where Richmond played. I don't even know what you're trying to get at. The only 2 guard NY had to compete with MJ was Starks. Richmond was a damn good player, but Mullin and Hardaway were better.

One thing you can always count on in these NBA threads, is KSwizzy coming in to pass his opinion off as fact.

And, big guy, a lot of what you say is wrong.

Penny trashes Rose. He was the Magic of Jordan's era.
No he wasn't. He was good but he was never great. He scored 20-23 a game because he was the only guy shooting on the Kings. Believe me I know, I actually watched those sorry ass Kings team pre Webber. We had guys like Billy Owens, Bobby Hurley, Walt Williams, Michael Smith, Olden Polynice and then there was Richmond. So it was only natural that Richmond would get to chunk the rock 25-35 times a game.

Penny and Shaq's team was the most menacing team that the Bulls faced IMO.

Dennis Scott, Nick Anderson, Gary Payton, J-Kidd, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Tim Hardaway, Sean Elliott, Glenn Rice. The guards of the 90's.

Nah Rock, it's a generational thing. Kswizzy's just doing what older guys do and playing possum.

Because Lebron is the only player on the floor for the Heat that could shut Rose down. And guess what, he did. And a 6'8 265 lbs SF shutting down a 6'3 PG who is arguable the quickest and most athletic player in the NBA + NBA mvp, that is VERY impressive. I don't now how you can just brush that off as "oh, jordan has done the same thing in his career." Because he hasn't.

Being indirectly forced to guard players off pick-switches is a hell of a lot different than being assigned to guard them because you are the best defensive 1on1 player on the floor.
            You remember this guy?

            Well.. He said this...

Iverson - "The craziest thing about it is I hit him with my best move and he still almost blocked it. That'll just let you know, how great of a defensive player he (MJ) was"

Are you sure that in over 15 years in the NBA, Jordan was never assigned to one of the great players mentioned for an entire quarter?

The 90s were just that damn good. Every position you had great players. You named Kidd and KJ in an earlier post and brought up Majerle. People forget about the 80s too and guys like Kiki Wandwhatever his last name is. Ron Harper anyone? The guy was a beast before he joined forces with MJ in Chicago. Then you had guys that were skilled but didn't work hard like Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn. But Mullin was that *****..

yeah. Harper with the Cavs. Kevin Johnson was the Wade of the 90's. Not afraid to dunk over taller defenders. And how about Glen Rice and Allan Houston? The shooting machines.

I was almost convinced of Kswizzy's argument about Richmond being the 2nd best guard in the Jordan era when he posted that video.

I just forgot how good the 90's NBA was.

Man Kevin Johnson was a monster for PHX back in the day. Glen and Houston had that 3 stroke that was just straight ******. Mitch was a damn good player though. I'll give him his props, but he wasn't the only other 2 guard in Jordan's era at all.
