The thing that bothers me about British and Aussie criticism, aside from their condescending tone towards "primitive" Americans, is the fact that most of these guys are commenting on something they have never experienced before.

How can you comment on a right you've never exercised yourself?

I don't have a gun and probably will never get one either. So far I haven't been in any trouble that I needed anything beyond my fists. There is an old saying, that those who own guns are more likely to end up victims or end up killing somebody unjustifiably and go to prison.

EXAMPLES: Your spouse take your own gun and shoots you for whatever reason, you kid finds your gun and accidently kills him/herself, you're mad at somebody and end up killing them whereas if you didn't own one...you would of only assaulted that person. ETC, ETC,.

I suppose living in a very bad neighberhood aka the ******, where people are getting shot on a daily basis, it's ok to own a gun and protect yourself. Other then that, living in areas where it's not a ****ing warzone, why own a gun? What's gonna happen is gonna happen randomly and if somebody shoots and kills you, you're not gonna be prepared anyway. It's not like the good ol' days in the Wild Wild West where somebody is actually gonna challange you to step outside of the bar and have a face-off duel, and whoever is faster wins. Look at Vernon Forrest, he had no chance.

If someone breaks into my home and i flash a gun they will go running.

If you are responsible with weapons none of what you mentioned will happen.

If your pissed at someone you can easily grab a knife,baseball bat, etc...which is quiet. If you want to harm someone you can still do it without a gun.

At the same time bro your wife could just as easily smash your head in with a baseball bat while you are sleeping,as for the kids i grew up around responsible gun owners ,they always kept them under lock and key and to top that off from age 5 on i knew about gun safety.
