While we're banning guns, lets go ahead and ban knives, sharp sticks, any kind of blunt instruments, and automobiles. All those things kill people too.....
If these people prevail, you'll need a permit to own a leatherman multi-tool at some point.

With all due respect, that's not the same argument. I understand you can kill someone with an ashtray but you can't walk into a crowded mall and murder 20 people with one.
There is a difference between a gun and a knife......

Someone with proper training can devastate a crowded room w/ a knife.
Especially since its a quiet method.
As a general reply to this thread, Bob Dylan sums it up the decay of the United States pretty well in this song.

What about cars? You can go to a crowded area and smash 20 or 30 people in a hurry....
Mexico's tourist industry as actually rebounded quite well since the news of allt he violence hit the world. I'm not saying what you say isn't true, there are terrible instances where these types of things happen but there ares till a ton of people going to Acapulco, Cancun for spring break.
I was in Mexico City not to long ago and I didn't feel any less safe than i have ever been. Granted, I don't go out to bars at night in seedy places of the city but there are places that are much nicer that are patrolled and taken very well care of.
The culture of guns doesn't exist in Mexico the way it does in the U.S. Now you might catch a machete to the face...........lol
Well it's obviously much worse on the border where drugs flow like the Amazon. Americans that don't live near the border like say El Paso, are oblivious the current dangers in Mexico, and there are some beautiful resorts that haven't yet been taken over.
You wouldn't believe the guns that go off from Mexico on New Years Eve, but like I said, that's near the border.
And I'm sure you stayed out of the seedy areas of Mexico City. I haven't been there myself, but I would imagine there are places you wouldn't want to walk the streets at night, with millions in poverty.
I own a few guns, and they all stay at my house, in my safe and unloaded unless I'm going hunting or trap shooting. Why should I not be allowed to have them?
