We gotta break the cycle sometime man. How much more do you have to lose until you just say "**** it", lets break out of this stranglehold?

As it stands right now its a total power monopoly masquerading as 2 parties.

But, because of unions, we have to pay autoworkers over 70 bucks an hour (including benefits) and can't be competitive with other countries without imposing huge tariffs. Over 70 bucks an hour for semi-skilled jobs. Which in turn makes cars far more expensive than they need to be.

Do you seriously think a global union would actually be a good thing?

It will be a great thing for those who want to centralize power and eliminate those pesky rights that our great constitution and bill of rights give us.

But it will suck for everyone below the people who will administer it.

You laughed at me for putting 1984 on my reading list. I didn't put it on there for historical research, I put it there for context. That book talks about a top down totalitarian government with a high tech police state built into it.

I don't see how thats much different than whats emerging right now.

Unionized workers for the Big 3 isn't a failure of government it is a failure of management. So don't come here with that trash.

Recently Boeing had yet another clash with the IAM (google it, since I'm sure you don't know what that is) and instead of meeting ridiculous demand, they shut their plants down and moved to a state where unions are looked down on, North Carolina.

Don't give me this union bull****. The Big Three is an epic, EPIC, failure of management. They refused to innovate and change DECADE after ****ing DECADE.

      Try again

They also have a huge plant in the Inland Empire, out in Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga area.

Toyota is a great example of how to run a business.

The big 3 just failed miserably. That was their problem.

          But.

And this is a big "But", lol. Look at how differently they were treated when it was time to hand out bailout cash.

A company that actually produces goods (as crappy as they were) and provides jobs gets about 20 billion with contingencies on improvement.

The banks on the other hand who do nothing but lend money they don't have, got up to this point over 11 trillion bucks w/ no strings attached.

If that doesn't show you who runs the government I don't know what does.

I just don't think a third party will ever have a chance in this country, the big two are just too powerful. Ross Perot is the closest we've come, and all he did was keep Bush Sr from winning.

1984 was decent, but I much prefer Atlas Shrugged for the direction we're headed. Though it is kinda scary to hear ***** talk about a civilian force, equally funded and as powerful as our military.

I get it dude, you jerk off to the idea of unions taking over the world, and deny any responsibility for them pushing certain wages far beyond the point where a profit can be made, or a competitive product can be produced. Blame it on management all you want, but paying 140K+ per year salaries to semi-skilled workers, no management in the world could make that work.

Don't know what IAM is, and quite frankly, could care less. There was a time when unions were useful to keep people from working absurd hours for crap pay, underage workers, etc. But today, they do more harm than good, and a global union, run by that communist fck Andy Stern, would be disastrous.

Hey loki, that reminds me. You decided on a pistol or ******* yet?

There is a lot of good sales right now. Big 5 FTW if you're looking for a ******* or a .22 rifle.

Are you being serious? Providing an example of how a car company from a foreign country can be successful in this country without unions? Thanks for proving my point. You might need that dunce hat.

Big 5 always has great sales.

I'm going to go pistol first, but I have to go out to the range and try a few different brands out. I'm thinking it will either be Sig Sauer or Bushmaster.
