Lol...a majority is a majority. They had every opportunity to stop Bush/Cheney's bull**** and they never did.

The ********s got elected in 06 to stop the war and they never did, instead they increased funding and expanded it.

You wouldn't know that unless you watched him at least as much as I do, now would you?
I watch sometimes, but I don't buy his bull****.

The Unions had no choice anyway since GM and Chrysler got sold off to Fiat.

As unions continue to grow in this country, we cannot afford to be competitive with the rest of the world. Personally, I'd rather see those same workers remain in Mexico, instead of come up here and not pay taxes, burden our health care and prison systems, etc.

I can only speak on why he has lost support where I'm from. Wichita is referred to as "The Air Capital of the World" because most of our economy comes from Boeing, Cessna, Learjet etc. ***** has made numerous statements about limiting private aircraft which hurts the businesses around here. Im not blaming ***** here, but since he has taken office about 2/3 of the workers in the aircraft industry in Wichita have lost their jobs. Also his comments on the school year being lengthened because families don't need kids to help with farming offended some people who still need their children for those purposes. Wichita also has the highest restaurant per capita in the world. With people not working at the aircraft factories people arent going out to eat. Wichita's top 2 money makers are shutting down, so its not real hard topfigure out why the President isnt a favorite around here.

What does that have to do with GM and Chrysler and the UAW?

I don't know about the SEIU, but if they're that close to ***** they're probably corrupt.

The bold is all about NAFTA!!

Thats why they come here. Their markets are totally opened up with no protections and U.S co's go down there and blow people out of business w/ cheaper ****.

Its the same thing Wal Mart does here, but now its done internationally.

Farmers and smaller businesses can't compete w/ their prices and lose everything. Then they come up here to work since there is no work down there. Thats why I don't blame Mexicans for coming up here. I'd do the same thing if I was in their position.

If you honestly believe that "unions continue to grow," you're a ****ing idiot and you should go shoot yourself.

Union membership has been on a steady and sharp decline for decades.

It was between 35-40% in the late 70's. Fell to about 25% in the 80's. Down to 14-15% in the late 90's. To under 12% in the last few years.

It wasn't until this year that they began to see a slight increase to membership.

to be fair, union membership HAS gone down in the private sector, for decades it seems...

BUT in the public sector (even scarier) it has been on the rise

either way, unions suck.... but i know how you guys feel, and it is what it is

The public sector is a joke.

They don't even try to battle the unions. We foot the bill.

exactly.... how can you battle both the union and the govt??? its lose/lose

and they enforce the will of govt even easier than say, the carpenters union or whatnot

*****'s rating is in the toilet because people have no idea how ****ed up this country is, how deeply rooted out problems our, and how difficult it will be to make progress much less fix them altogether.

It's almost like someone handed ***** a Brita Water Purifying Pitcher and stood him in front of a giant lake of raw sewage and told him to have the whole things sparkling clean and ready for drinking within a month.
