I never denied CC was the face of the WNBA. I said there is an argument that it should be A'Ja Wilson. For the simple reason that she is the best player in the WNBA while Clark is not close as of yet because she is a rookie.

I don't even know if Canelo is still the face of boxing. When he was, it's because he had consistently exciting performances. CC is a rookie with a large following that is somewhat due to people like you wanting to use her for your agenda.

Based on merit, the face of the WNBA clearly should be A'ja Wilson. Agreed or nah?

That is your opinion. Which is why I said there is AN ARGUMENT that A'ja Wilson is the face of the WNBA. She has accomplished far more in the WNBA than CC obviously and is still the best player today. I believe the face of the league should be the best player. Part of Clark's popularity and marketability are for reasons that have nothing to do with her actual performance.

Let’s face it, no one cared about WNBA until Clark came on the scene. Griner was the most popular women’s player before Clark but for all the wrong reasons. No one heard of her until she screwed up and got arrested overseas. To deny Clark is the face of the WNBA is delusional and rooted in an agenda. We all know what the agenda is, and Clark has the bruises to prove it.

The post isn’t about politics. What I posted is something literally every show that had talked about Clark has mentioned when discussing her expanding the fan base in both college and pros.

You’re the one obsessed. You aren’t knowledgeable enough about the sport ( by your own admission ) to realize my point is just an observation of fact, made by many people, regardless of spectrum. It was not an attempt to delve into politics. Relax. Try having a nuanced, educated discussion.

Your point is true as I said. It alap indicates you don’t have much history following the WNBA outside of national news stories.

You and the people I mentioned in my post, do not have a history of watching women’s basketball. People like Clay Travis, Hannity , etc , never commented about the sport. Same for posters like you, outside of Griner.

Clark has expanded the fan base into that demographic, in addition to raising the profile among the groups that have watched. That wasn’t a bad thing until the politicization began. Now that aspect has subsided, it’s just about growing the game.

Where have I spun anything negatively about Clark?

The only negative has been the addition of the type of fans that bring the agenda that Clark herself has flat out rejected, saying she wants no part of their agenda.
