What's funny is this thread resembles what I have read in recent articles and what is portrayed in real life of the WNBA, Caitlyn Clark and throw in Angel Reese.

An insignificant league that no one talked about. Now the #1 draft pick is creating all kinds of buzz and attention, they are changing venues when this girl (Clark) plays. I can't say I have ever seen this before in any sport. Good for them for the all-around attention and + revenue.

When I mention Angel Reese, the articles give her props for her double/double records and what she is achieving but the articles I have read feel that they are reaching. I have also looked into Angel Reese's attendance numbers to see if there is a growth where she plays. Maybe compared to other WNBA players/games her contribution is big but compared to Clark her impact is not the same.

(Quick example - the attendance to Reese's "homecoming" (she is from Baltimore) in DC, the crowd was at 10000. But when Clark played in that same arena over 20800 showed up.

Let’s face it, no one cared about WNBA until Clark came on the scene. Griner was the most popular women’s player before Clark but for all the wrong reasons. No one heard of her until she screwed up and got arrested overseas. To deny Clark is the face of the WNBA is delusional and rooted in an agenda. We all know what the agenda is, and Clark has the bruises to prove it.

I don’t even know why Angel Reese got brought up in this thread. But she has the game of a big: rebounding plus layups. Which isn’t as aesthetic as Caitlin in my opinion, who has Steph Curry range and also makes creative passes to get others involved.

Translation: I didn't care about the WNBA until heard about this white girl Clark.

You still don't know anything abut the WNBA. This is just another opportunity for your white sheet agenda

I mean, till these chicks start throwing it down from the dots on a 7 footer in traffic, I won't be tuning in much.

The game is slooooooooow, and lacks verticality.

The product isn't the issue itself.

The issue is, there is far superior product already out there, and has been around for 60-70 years.

Caitlin has to work hard at fixing her turnover issue, but in a year or two she'll be a perennial all-WNBA selection.

Pulled this from a Yahoo article that released yesterday:

Entering the Sunday matchup between the Wings and Aces, Caitlin Clark was leading the WNBA in points scored or assisted on with 713 points.
She has a line of 16/7/6 as a rookie. Is already one of the WNBA's assist leaders (3rd I think). And we know those PPG numbers are going to climb. I don't know if she'll ever get to the 30 a game or whatever it was that she was averaging in college, but I fully expect her to be around 25 PPG a few seasons down the road.

The women’s game (college basketball anyway) is actually more fundamentally sound believe it or not. Precisely because they don’t have the same athleticism as the men. So they rely more on running set plays, moving without the ball, passing the ball around to find the open player, and having to hit their shots.

It was kind of refreshing to watch. And I never would have given it a chance if it wasn’t for all the hoopla around Caitlin.

Have you even watched NBA? I bet you don't even watch WNBA.

As someone who watches both, there is no way the WNBA is more fundamentally sound than the NBA. Guys in the NBA are not just running around dunking like it's a pick up game. Just because WNBA teams run plays (just like NBA teams) does not mean they execute them well. I'm sure this is not much different for college.

Yes, travesty. I have watched the NBA.

Stop crying about every little opinion I have.
