He may as well buy the club and manage it then.

Also, for Gerard to Villa. No disrespect to Villa, they have history but it seems like it would be a step down and a potential trap setting.

He won’t play in Europe anymore, the buying power isn’t that much greater despite Villa’s worth and lastly, if he goes there and gets stuck in mid table hell and the eventual relegation scrap, it effectively means Gerard’s elimination for a potential “big” club appointment.

That definitely seems like a step downwards to me.

No offense to Alza in here but Villa would win the Scottish premier fairly easily.

Not really a dig since just look at their team.

Villa performed really well against Chelsea twice in the league game I think it was 3 nil they lost but it was unjust really. Unlike Burnley who were dogs.hit and should have lost 6 nil minimum.

I dont see why Villa would look at Stevie Meee really because if his achievement is beating a Celtic in transition to a title then that's not much. Certainly less than Frank guiding a very novicey Chelsea team to 4th.

Norwich might be a nice job for Frank if their owners accept they are getting relegated regardless but maybe just want to go down swinging punches. Then allow Frank to build a more robust, youthful team when they come up again.

Chelsea could give them a bit of a big dog on loan too. Maybe someone like Barkley

Villa would compete but it will be because they can buy players. Any team not Celtic and sort of- Rangers, can’t. So they are in the hunt by default but I really don’t think they have that mettle. They’d be rotating with Celtic every 3 rd year for league winners.

To be fair to Gerard though, he went undefeated with Rangers to the title and round of 16 in 2nd tier Europe. That’s fair enough to get a mid table job in the Premier League.

I feel if you are Gerard, you wait for Leicester or Southampton to open up. Hasenhuttl could easily find himself back in Germany with Dortmund, Wolfsburg etc. While Brendan is a strong candidate for Man United. Two clubs with more talent and sure of avoiding the drop for at least 2 seasons.

Whereas, if you are Frank, you want that Villa job (is Terry still there? If so, never mind then). Norwich are getting relegated, the only club with more losses than Villa. But Villa at least has a fighting chance. As long as Frank is more Derby than Chelsea. Man literally copy and pasted Andre Villas Boas at Chelsea.

Gerrard to Villa official .This will probably set Rangers a bit domestically and in Europe .Hibs 1 week on Sat first game without Gerrard league cup semi-final .How wiill they adapt without there old boss . Tough run of fixtures coming up as well .
