I cant think of player whose form has improve as much as Toni Rudiger. He was woeful under Lamps towards the end and now I think he is possibly the best centre half in the world.

His form is absolutely insane and now has been sustained over more than 6 months.

Never known the like. Chelsea dont seem to want to pay him 200k a week. Seems insane. Give it to.him. if he still chooses to go to PSG for even more money then fair enough I'm sure they can give him an insane signing on fee. But try properly to keep him ffs

Barcelona without Messi are about as good as Burnley.

Bayern wrecked them and even used Coutinho to do it.

Barcelona's issues are deep though. I feel it's their team play/ system. But at this point, it is probably their age playing a part as well. Maybe Biscuits and Pique are just over the hill now?

Because the team got switched back to 3-atb.

Have to remember, Rudiger came from Roma which used 3-atb at the time. Under Conte he was good because 3-atb. Then wasn't used with Sarri and ****** with Lampard but those two used 4 atb.

****** for Germany too, whenever they used 4 atb.

Rudiger is a niche player. Suited for 3-atb. So it's no surprise he's playing good again.

Much like Alonso, who also suddenly had a resurgence in form. He's not getting beat for pace anymore either. Idk what sort of gear he's on but he's even faster now and made Chilwell a bench player firmly.

I'd be okay with letting him go if he tries to do a Luiz, tbh. If the team can find a left footed CB to replace him especially. Like that Pau Torres guy from Spain.

I dont trust defenders from Spain really to do the defensive side. Saul played the other day like nobody has ever tried to tackle him and there is so much wrong with Kepa's game it's actually wild (I know he is a keeper) but just the complete absence of physicality or anticipation of crosses or long shots.

I think La Liga is extremely weak. Shown by how easily Chelsea dispatched the Madrid teams. Probably Chelsea's easiest matches of the whole season. Should have beaten Real Madrid 10 nil at home. They seem like they are underpowered. Even Thiago at Liverpool is not good enough physically

English teams or Bayern will win the CL this year and probably for the next few.

Pressing and maintaining that press.

Tiki Taka was the first fad and nobody could deal with that and it became popular but even Pep has now adapted to the fact that that the game at the top level is largely won through pressing and counter pressing very aggressively and very high and conversely taking big risks to break a press when they have the ball. There are a lot of teams that in England that do it and do it every week. It is just how the game is played now.

Villa got into Saul and it isnt even his fault. It will take him some time to get used to that.

There might be some sort of tactical innovation that changes the game again but I'd be really surprised if someone outside of Bayern Munich or the English times won the big ears for a while. The whole insane press came from Germany but has been taken on England by other teams with deep pockets and better players.

A more simplistic argument could he that the English teams and Bayern have better players. Bayern are just a bit of an anomaly in that they are dangerous despite playing some pretty rubbish teams in their league but then they have essentially cannobilised their own league.

We will see about PSG. So far they have largely shown that it doesnt matter how many good players they have because it has an individual focus. Someone will eventually take what theyve got and take them to pieces because the best teams will find way to create overloads. I'm looking forward to them because Messi is Messi but I'd expect them to get pummeled by a good team over 2 legs
