There are places in the world that make US and Brazilian Flavelas look like Hiltons. I traveled to Business in Africa you would see some crazy crazy **** just in transit from Airport to Hotel and meetings.

Went to Jamaica as a tourist and the none touristy part is crazy too. People washing clothes in stream and some poor **** but not as bad as I saw in Africa.

You have no idea how bad the Flavelas are. Flavela Rising and the additional feature doc on City of God DVD make it look better than it is! There are people who hang around with AK's near the bottom. I didn;t dare go in. The Brazilian police units that go in there are best in world at urban warfare, and US and Royal Marines train with them to learn before dying like flies in Iraq.

The true stories are probably worse. I only came close and it looked like a ****hole at the bottom of the hill. Kids were playing football in bare feet on concrete! The steep slope makes it worse. I promptly abandoned my adventure and went back to the beach. Them ****** girls give good blowies so always get an aprtment, not a hotel. Hotel receptions or secuirty at night want money for when you bone birds

Some good **** goes down around my end:

Seems like American suburbs are copying British council estates:

From talking to people who have been all over the world, Tijuana and Panama City deserve to be listed here.

Dude's, it has to be somewhere in the third world. Countries that mix poverty with large gun violence. India has crushing poverty, but not the second part for instance.

Watched Ross Kemp on Gangs, and some of those places in Belize City must rank up the top.

Dude, I'm not saying it isn't bad but you see horrendous **** that you would think didn't happen anywhere in the world. I'm talking distended stomach's, bare bare minimum clothing. Mind you this is just in passing on vehicles.

Mind you I have never been to a Flavela but even from the basic clothing, shelter and nutritional standpoint what I saw of Africa appeared much worse.
