    Religious Question

Have you ever noticed people with lower IQs are more likely to be religious and really itelligent people usually are atheists?

Or is it life experiences that make you not believe in God. Like a girl once told me who had a really crazy mom that would beat her and her sister viciously and got put in foster care. She told me when she was about four she dicided after praying for the beatings to stop every night that their was no god.

I also read a book about the effects of the Holocaust on the ***ish faith. It had tons of quotes from ***s that said they still go to synagoge and practice ******* though don't believe in god anymore because he wouldn't have let the Holocaust happen if he existed.

I am torn on what to believe.

einstein believed in God, however, when he was a child he was considered ******ed. many scientists such as isaac newton, ever heard of him? and brilliant philsophers such as kierkegaard were believers.... nah, buddy, what ur really saying these people stopped believing God because they can't understand why God would let bad things happen to them. is God a ****ing magician who's supposed to make everything rosy and perfect for u? i have a buddy who stopped believing because he's a self centered yuppie loser who can't understand why he's not richer and everything isn't perfect in his life

What ever happened to the verse god looks out for children and fools? Does he ever answer any prayers. I am surprised you believe in god, I do mission and want to believe but wow I go to some support groups and here horror stories and it makes me wonder become more of a Diest. Which means their was a god that created the earth and just moved on which is what Thomas Jefferson believed. Maybe he is asleep at the wheel and some people are just born to get ****ed over.

einstein wasn't a god fan. this was in the news like a month or two ago.

beside, nobody was more intuitive and more genius than tesla - who wasn't religious at all. when asked what religion he woud be if he had to pick, he said buddhism. but he was spirtual, not religious. he new better than to get into the religious trap.

no bright person accepts the bible's form of god at least.

if a person mentions god as more of a concept, state of being, everything, or the harmony of everything, then i wouldn't disagree so much.

but the majority of reilgious people, from all religions, are merely followers who do not or cannot think for themselves. the ajority think of god as an actual person or entitiy with feelings, emotions, etc. that would mean that god has all the ****-ups normal people have. as i have said, the more u define what u thing god/universe is, the farther from it u are or seem to be. and that statement is based off of my own understanding as well as ancient philosophy.

too many people have tried to rely on the magic father figure - like the girl mentioned. truth is, u are accountable for yourself.

I know others without **** that still believe in God like my Great Aunt who was abused by her husband and had a terrible life. She bent down one day to pray with a neighbor a few years ago and died praying, which made me think well if anyone is going to heaven she is.

no, it comes down to the problem of free will. because God wants us to be free to choose, we have to be free to choose evil as well as good, therefore God can't step in and rearrange people's lives every time we have a problem - though sometimes He does anyway, it's just not as fast as we want it to be. God waits to what we think is along time because seconds mean alot to us but nothing to HIm. i think these complainers are just bitches, though, because we happliy suck up all the good things God does for us, then ***** and moan about the world isn't exactly as we want it. the real problem is we need to humble ourselves and let God be God

u shouldn't be surpised i believe in God, buddy, i'm a street kid that grew up on my own, when u have to go through everything alone, u realize pretty fast u can;t do without God as a source of strength. i've been pretty succesful in life where everyone says i shouldn't be, but i've also had a lot of pain. if i'm going to accept the good things from God, why wouldn't i accept the bad also?

Is god willing to prevent evil but not able?
                then he is impotent.

Is he able but not willing?
                then he is malevolent.

is he both able and willing?
                then whence cometh evil?

is he neither able nore willing?
                then why call him god?
                - Epicurus

Oh and btw.. Albert Einstein wasn't a religious person and most of his writings and speeches and quotes point him to being an athiest.

so you are saying there are things god can't do... but isn't god supposed to be able to do anything and everything??

btw why is it that whenever something happens it was a miracle, divine intervention.. a gift from god.. but when **** goes wrong, well god can't help and that's not his job?..

see the quote I posted above.
