Loma won't be boxing much. Lopez won't let him. He better be prepared for a tough, physical fight where he's thrown around and roughed up. I also wouldn't mind if Lopez threw some sneaky low blows and elbows, hitting down behind the head, etc., like Loma himself does.
I think you are in for a huge let-down my friend. "Loma won't be boxing much - Lopez won't let him"... You don't really believe that, do you?

We know Loma is an incredible talent, and one of the best p4p fighters on the planet.

Lopez has had one meaningful fight. He did very well in that fight.

Loma has beaten plenty of guys who are more proven than Lopez.

Lopez has never been in the ring with anyone on Loma's level.

3:1 odds is fairly complimentary to Lopez. OP is right. The odds of Lopez winning are low. People who are saying it looks like a close fight are doing so based on wishful thinking.

Lopez showed he had power against Commey. That is all he has going for him in this fight. He could win with one fluke punch, or with a couple of lucky seriously hard hits over the course of the fight, if they are enough to destabilise Loma and break his flow.

The obvious story of this fight: Reasonably close first half of the fight. Loma takes his usual time working out his opponent. Second half of the fight will be Loma taking Lopez apart. Loma winning by late KO or wide points decision (9-3).

Because Loma has a short reach, he uses the angles to jump in and get his combos off and angle out. Also, his defense isn't as good as people think. The book is still out of Teo but his philly counter is specifically made for guys moving in on a straightline with a short reach ala FMW Jr fighting primarily guys with reaches under 72'' except for Judah . Nice match up.
Pedraza uses his long reach and jab to control opponents, Lopez doesn't. Pedraza is also a lot more nimble on his feet which allowed him to keep up with Lomas movement.Lopez with his wide stance will be a lot easier to get out of position.

i have no clue what you are talking about, have posted several time i think santa cruz is a chicken. where did i say that about lopez? it's not a super fight but lopez pockets more punch than anyone loma has faced to date. like the other poster said loma won't be playng pitty pat touch his head in the fight.

I just think Lopez will win by a close decision. Loma will get dropped in this fight. But he will try to rally back, but by the time he recovered from the knockdown, it's too late already.

To box, you need space. Loma isn't a good inside fighter.

Great boxers like Loma create space and dictate the terms of distance and angles. I'm not at all saying Teo can't take this one - I basically look at it as 60-40 Loma, but I see a lot of people overhyping Lopez based on the blitzing of Commey. Loma, however, is a totally different story.
