Love Lopez but if he doesn’t come in at 100% for AT LEAST the second half of the fight, he won’t win.
Rounds 1-4: He’s going to have to be patient for a while before he shows his cards. Jabs and body shots from both outside and inside. He should try to wrestle-hold and force Loma to expend energy without taking punches.
Rounds 4-7: Start to switch the tune with more explosive power and pop shots. But more importantly, turn up the effective aggression while still wrestling and backing him up. Back up and retreat only to break his momentum and rhythm.
7-9: The most crucial rounds!! If it lasts this long! Lopez must be patient and make the fight boring. Use his explosiveness to engage and then disengage making Loma wanting to commit each time. To frustrate the matador himself the bull must not engage.
9-10: If Teo does all of the above perfectly, he will be able to use his size and power to hurt Loma. Maybe even enough to take him out. If he does not, it means he wasn’t experienced or patient enough to take him on at this time.
If this fight goes the distance I favor Loma.
