Loma vs Lopez- Am I missing something ?

Lopez is a great fighter with good hand speed and great power, seems to be calm and confident in the ring. He likes to come straight forward and rely on his natural speed to land faster stronger punches against mostly one-dimensional opponents.

He is a good judge of distance so if a fighter falls short with his punches he will make him pay by leaning slightly and countering.

Comey who is older and slower decided that he was the alpha in the ring was just gonna outtrade faster, younger more athletic guy. That was the worst gameplan he could have implemented.

Lopez generates his power by having a wide stance which works perfectly fine against fighters who don't have any lateral movement.

Loma arguably has the best lateral movement in the sport. Although very different in every other aspect than Walters, Lopezes' footwork is very similar to that of Walters.

What is Lopez gonna do when Loma starts to circle him? He needs to be firmly in his wide stance to generate power just like Walters. without good foot placement, Lopez is just an arm puncher.

It's still possible Loma gets caught because that's boxing but other than punchers chance I just don't see a way for Lopez to win. Loma is not gonna start trading with Lopez, Loma is not gonna just come straight forward without any head movement, and most importantly he is not gonna just stand at the dangerous distance waiting for Lopez to figure out how to land a huge punch. Maybe if Lopez starts going to the body early and slows Loma down significantly. He could try to push Loma around and make it dirty just like Salido but even fighting dirty is a skill and fighters rarely just change their fighting style overnight. Lopez has been a pretty clean boxer so far.

Lopez can win if Loma makes the same mistake he made against Linares. But that's about all.

Which is why I keep saying - I don't support the 'eye test' of Lopez, personally.

Personally I love the bull and matador matchups. A guy can be sweeping every round but there’s always that chance he could get caught. I was losing my mind ant the end of Martinez vs Chavez years ago.

I will tell you guys the only way Lopez could possibly win, one night before the fight or right before the fight.

But I do not see it and I see Loma by TKO all the way.

The only thing I'd say is, Lopez will be the best win Loma has had so far in his pro career (not sure he'll win). Lopez would destroy people like Campbell and Linares. Gary Russell is Loma's best win now.

The odds will be even by the time the fight happens. I don't follow official odds or really know much about them. What are they now? Why do you think that is?

According to some, Loma is the greatest amateur ever, the best fighter in the world now (or maybe ever), in his prime and peak, yet fighting a kid will be 50/50? Shouldn't it be like 100-1? What's happening here? There's two ways to proceed to answer this. (I will not answer it.)

              Commey isn't much.

Its not 50/50 odds. "According to the opening boxing odds Vasiliy Lomachenko is the (-365) betting favourite. That means if you bet $365 you could profit $100. Meanwhile, Teofimo Lopez being the underdog means a $100 wager could win you $275." bettinginsiderjournal..//.com
He is the best fighter in the world but its boxing , **** happens especially when you are facing someone who is fast, athletic with a knockout power. 100-1? Betting people don't like to take such a silly risk.

So, a little more than 2-1, with almost 2 months to go?
