It depends on who is fighting just like in boxing.

Although, the best fights in boxing are much better than the best MMA fights.

Agreed to all. I enjoy MMA; but, like you, it’ll always be second to boxing for me.

The talent pool is getting bigger each year and the standard is rising, the undercards kill most the boxing cards for quality
Probably the single greatest advantage UFC has over boxing. The best fight the best rather quickly.

Agreed. The best fights in UFC are terrific. But even then, the best fights in boxing are even more exciting.

MMA can be a bit much, and, it is a useless sport. We've done it plenty of times in human history, it leads to boxing. Boxing in the chesapeake bay in the late 1600s was no holds barred and anything goes. So naturally guys lost their eyes and balls in fights because eye plucking or grabbing the nethers and ripping was a fine way to win a boxing match. That version of the sport got absorbed by LPRR by the mid 1800s because by then the rough'n'tumble fighters were all fist fighters anyway. There was no reason to try to kick a man or try to 'rassle him down because he's going to knock you the **** out.

And that's not even the first time in human history laxed rule, mixed rule, or no rules lead to just some good the fist fighting sport called boxing.

I see all other forms of combat as inferior now as they were when they were all used in warfare. The asians get bodied by the greeks because the greeks boxed and the asians did their kung fu bull****. They needed a bow worth a **** to get made before asia was ever a threat to the west because they literally never found any way to go toe-to-toe with europeans using asian martial arts.

The simplest way to put it is it's ****** to assume people just simple woke up one day and decided hey, lets just do punching and only to the head and body. Yeah, that's real natural, that doesn't beg a story of evolution through forms and ideas leading to punches only and only to the head and body.

That said, I appreciate all combat sports, MMA, even pansy ass low-contact, because it's in the struggle people shine. Even Sumo offers something, the explosion of power is real as ****, don't get pushed by no Sumo. Hakuho can send you flying.

My focus is on boxing 90% and everything else occupies 10%.

Each combat sport has attributes that, to an untrained eye, can go unappreciated. For example, the ground game in the octagon is highly technical, but to the casual (or even hardcore) boxing fan, it may appear to be two guys just rolling around on the mat.

The skill levels in MMA are improving because the talent pool is expanding. For sure UFC eats boxing for breakfast with respect to the best fighting the best. They have their stars also but Dana White is astute enough to realize that compelling EVENTS make more money in the long term than robbing fans with a cash cow fighting scrubs.

I admit I have fantasies regarding MMA... I want to grow my gut wayyy out and get a very tight shirt that says "Tap Out" on it. And I want a women with a flat head and long ears to grab so I have a nice place to put my beer when being pleasured. I picture myself walking through the mall with that shirt hugging, trying to contain my giant gut....All the people saying "thats a bad dude!"

As March says The Asians nevr figured out the T-shirt thing, and relied on chinese Gung Fu! Ghengis Khan those arrows would bounce off my gut and tap out shirt!

When I am feeling particularly reverent I could also put a giant gut into a shirt that says "Jesus did not tap."

Say what you want about MMA but without it you would not have white guys with giant guts and Tap out shirts. You even have those matching hats!

MMA is fine but boxing is better.

              1. Boxing
              2. Bare Knuckle
              3. Kickboxing
              4. MMA

Ground fighting just isn't that entertaining to me. But I'll still watch MMA if it's the only fight on.

But on the other hand, last year they were gonna let Brock Lesnar walk back into a heavyweight title fight.

                  Lesnar's last 3 fights:
2016: No Contest vs Mark Hunt, a fighter with a losing record. Lesnar won a decision then failed a steroid test.

                  2011: KO 1 L vs Alistair Overeem

                  2010: KO 1 L vs Cain Velasquez

Lesnar's last official win came in July 2010 and they were gonna give him a world title shot just because of his name.

In boxing, you use only your fists. No elbows, knees or taking your opponent to the ground to bail you out. If you aren't skilled enough with your fists, it's going to be a LONG night. If you are hurt, the referee will give you an 8 count. He will ask you if are ok to continue. If you are not ok, he will stop it.

No comparison. Boxing is much more civilized and is the true gentlemen's sport.
Maybe you just had awkward feelings when the men were lying on top of each other, grinding away, sweating on each other. Did you?
