Let me put it this way because when I talk about DAZN I'm speaking DAZN in the US. It's a boxing app in the US. Bellator ain't doing numbers that's why they don't release Bellator numbers. They barely promote it.

Its still not just a boxing app regardless how you wanna frame it. They are in their early stages in the US & cuz boxing is sketchy as f#ck & mom & pop-ish its among the most watched easiest sports to get into outta nowhere for a new player.

They aren't getting a major sport.

There are ALWAYS growing pains with a new player. Every company in the history of business has a list of f#ck ups that hurt them for a period of time. If DAZN lives or dies depends less on if they f#cked up that one Canelo fight & more on how they avoid not f#cking up in the Canelo fights to come.

I still say a lot of there problem is internet speeds on non-smart TV's. Everyone I hear talking about DAZN viewing on smart TV's seem to be doing fine largely. Cats trying to watch on other devices, like myself, seem to be running into buffering bs from time to time. Once we are notched up to 5G speeds I suspect this problem resolves itself.

And if they get that how much you think they charging a month? Won't be $20 a month and won't be $100 a year.

Inflation is a mfer. The price of EVERYTHING keeps going on. It'll hardly be a surprise if DAZN's pricing is altered over time like everyone else seems to do. No one is lowering their prices I know that sh^t.

What did DAZN expect to happen when they invested 300 million dollars in a overrated ducker hypejob who came to fame for being a red headed Mexican, nothing else, and then bartered that fame into corrupt judging and favorable matchmaking, including only facing top fighters like GGG once they were 35 years old? No one but Mexican fans and hardcore racist boxing fans who hate GGG like Canelo, everyone else remembers him ducking the prime version of GGG, and ruining a great matchup, to instead give the fans a past its sell by date, half-cooked version of the same fight years later, or, they don't follow boxing anyway.

It seems like everything wrong with boxing is coming to a head here, and DAZN is ground zero. They made their bed signing this hypejob, now they're stuck with him.

They surely have some sorta veto rights on opponents. And/Or the ability to increase or decrease his pay depending on opponent & DAZN's belief in hos much it helps grows their brand.

One of the higher up DAZN guys was on Mannix's show back around the time of the Jacobs fight iirc talking about how they got some control/leverage, but obviously wouldn't go into particulars.

I mean think about it. Who's giving you $33M a fight & then is just like "we don't care who you fight". Thats not f#cking happening lets be real here folks.

I think there is too much money here for this to not get figured out doe & I don't think Canelo is in fear of GGG or anything like that. I think he just knows its a hard fight & its a fight he could lose & I don't think there is love lost between those two specifically after all the PED sh^t GGG was saying.

Canelo told BBB side what he needs to do to earn that third ass whipping and instead he fought Rolls. That’s on him.
This happens often. There were reports that HBO wouldn’t exceed Showtime’s offer for Mayweather unless he guaranteed to fight Pacquiao in the first 12 months of the deal. He left.
I think the Munguia rumors are true in that it’s a fight they can market to the Mexican fan base and he can still take a third fight this year in December.

That sums up everything perfectly. I'd find it hard to believe that they will let Canelo fight any fighter he and his team wants and I doubt they will let GGG fight another Rolls but probably not have GGG face a big threat either. Guess we will see where the cards fall. Who Canelo and GGG fight next will really show what kind of power and influential capacity is being held by all sides. And that might give us a hint a what the contracts have as far as expectations are concerned.
