If only 600k watched it, then that is hard to believe unless a whole bunch of people have it for the MLB show and didn't care for the fight.
Why would you expect more than that? Its an 8 month old service that only has some boxing, bellator and an mlb highlights show. Not much content compared to what ESPN+ has and what DAZN has in Canada, Germany or Japan.

That's great news means they definitely cracked 1M subscribers in the US. Since this is just how many people watched live hell they have subscribers that don't even watch boxing, you got people subscribing to DAZN for Bellator and the other sports they have. That's a big success that the key will be how many subscribers bought the 1 year $99 subscription and how many bought the 1 month $19.99? Keep it going DAZN

Honestly it depends on how many subscribers they have for the MLB network. They don't have NFL yet and I doubt the soccer league they have is going to attract many subscribers. Bellator very well may, but I'm guessing a large part of those fans would have tuned in for the Canelo fight.

Eh. I mean its a new thing. So growing pains are gonna be present.

I mean I get it. Assuming max expense for this specific fight ($20) that means DAZN made $24M of the $33M average per fight they are paying Canelo. So basically this might be the second Canelo fight in a row that lost money to the rights buyer in quite awhile, but this isn't a one or two fight investment. This is a 5 year investment & only step 2 of the 11 steps.

Is AJ really going to move units in the US like this? I'm sure he will boost sales in other countries.

Canelo being on free TV in Mexico is going to cut out a huge number of potential subscribers that aren't buying the service for MMA or MLB.
AJ is in the same month as Canelo (assuming you bought the same day as the fight)

Dunno why people keep saying MLB. Its a highlight show (similar to ESPNs Baseball Tonight) and doesnt show games. MLB Tonight (on MLB Network) is far superior IMO.

I don't think it means that at all. Depends on how many they had BEFORE the fight. I'll be tuning into to Evan Rutkowski's podcast this week to see what he has to say about this. Hopefully he didn't record it before this report.

"Definitely" seems like a overstep, maybe "they likely" would be better, cuz if 600k of the 700k peak were US that 85.7% US viewers percentage translated to that 1.2M overall number = over 1M. So idk about definitely, but probably or most likely seems more reasonable.

I mean again, if that is the case then they are no close to a million subscribers as bigdunny1 stated. If they only had 300-400k subscribers heading into the event, then Canelo didn't move the needle to the point they surpassed that amount.

The more important thing is how many subscribers they retained after the fight. And I guess as equally important is how many subscribers will fail to cancel their service in a months time LOL.
