This is a highly underrated & understood point of view, but 100% accurate.

This whole new thing gots mfers confused as f#ck. Streaming is different people.

That said it is fun to theorize & speculate on "what this means or doesn't mean".

And idk that everyone would cancel within days of the fight. Lotsa people if not the majority of people would probably just play it out for a minute.

I mean they've surely seen the Joshua ads. Why not wait to watch the Joshua fight or check out some of the other fights before you make the call. Or just in general try to check out some other fights or watch the Jacobs fight again or the Fielding fight if they happened to have missed that.

And people are just lazy in general. I'd bet DAZN will have their fair share of cats who'll forgot about getting DAZN & call them up all mad on June w/e the hell to b^tch about being billed another month.
If you cancel, you still have access for a month after subscribing since you have paid for it. So if you subscribed 5/4, "cancelled" on 5/5, you'd still have access until 6/3 so can watch the AJ fight and not worry about forgetting to cancel later

And what would be a reasonable overall number based on that %? Idfk. So I don't see anything wrong with saying 600k is the bottom (for May 2019 anyway, cuz I guarantee you there is gonna be a huge churn rate after this month).

Only the people thinking DAZN is a boxing app think this I'd bet.

I think its a solid bet they were close to a mill subs, or reaching 1M, for May 2019 based on the numbers brought up.

The concern for DAZN is how many are subs in June 2019 & beyond.
Yeah I think DAZN is very happy I mean they clearly leaked this info. I think reports last week were true and they are at 1M or close in subscriptions in the US. Think about that for a second they launched just 8 months ago in the US and they are at or close to 1M subscribers this fast. The key now is how many they retain and how many they build. Because we have no idea how many subscribed to the year $99 and how many just did the 1 month $20 bucks. the guys on the 20 bucks they have to win them over and they have to now in the short turn worry about scooping up Joshua and GGG fans since both have fights coming up. And if you at almost 1M subscribers as high water mark in May that's great now let's see where they can be by Sept when Canelo fights again.

Not bad. Great fight between two prime fighters to unify the belts. Boxing fans should be supporting these type of fights. Good number by DAZN and price should sway the casual and hardcore fan to tune in. It's a fraction of the PPV price. If you're a casual who only tunes in to big fights you're saving about 60 bucks and plus you get extra content for the month. If you're a hardcore fan the $100 covers you all year for every big event plus more. Just saying, this is a great deal.

If you cancel right after the fight, you still get to watch the Joshua fight. Plenty cancel right after the event so they don't forget to do in a months time. And subscription based services rely on you to forget to cancel. I'm a victim of that with the WSJ where I got like a $50 charge on my credit card the following month SMH.

And you have to consider that Canelo brings in a lot of casuals who really don't care about boxing minus just watching his fights.

The fight was watched by 20 million people in Mexico alone, grant it it was on free television but still , Mexico has the greatest boxing fans in the world, even Eddie hearn admitted this.

Yeah this is all about Canelo not jacbos. lol But what's really crazy is the last 2 PPVs did 360K (Spence/Garcia) and less then 200K (Crawford/Khan). 3 of the top 10 P4P fighters did less PPVs then who watched Canelo live on a brand new app that just launched 8 months ago. Canelo is a huge star and draw. He basically saved Eddie Hearn and DAZN's azzz because remember no fighters were signing with DAZN until Canelo did it in Oct. Now their boxing content is about 5X better then what it was because of Canelo alone. He by himself directly brought Golden Boy's roster, then GGG (who followed just in hopes of fighting him). then indirectly other small signings after Canelo gave DAZN credibility.
