There is no indication Haymon had a hand in that decision & I've not even seen anything to suggest Ortiz is a Haymon advised fighter.
Y'all mfers keep trying to make Haymon the f#cking Keyser Soze of boxing. Its ridiculous.

But boogeyman doe.
Unless my reading comprehension isn't clear, Hearn just said that his first offer was for $6m, he didn't hear anything back, and then made a new offer for $7m with an undisclosed offer for a second fight on DAZN; a two-fight deal in most other parlance.
Still, if Jarrell Miller was set for $6.5m (don't know if that's before or after Salita Promotions gets their piece), why start the Ortiz talks at $6m, before mandating it be two fights (having a rematch clause I basic boilerplate for a voluntary defense, but picking up an option isn't) to get to $7m [again, this according to Hearn's own words]?
Jimenez seems to have gotten zealous in the talks, but let's be clear here

That's basically Haymon's business model; Mikey wants to fight Errol Spence Jr, Spence Jr is down to fight Mikey, a split is agreed to, and then the event gets put together. Fox Sports backs the move to PPV, ITV has their UK fee, the live event gets staged by hired promoters, etc.
The fight happens, the result is the result, and then both guys sit down and share the proceeds from the event together.
