My favorite fighter ever probably, He may not be the Goat but he is in the conversation. His insistance on continuing fighting after he was plainly shot has hurt his legacy. Had he retired after he squeaked out the win over Tarver after he dropped back down from HW there would be little argument. There is no way to nail down who the best ever was truly but Id pick him over almost everyone you can name prime for prime.

"Is Roy Jones in his prime the best fighter of all time"?........NO!
Sugar Ray Robinson is TBE, ATG HoF boxer/puncher to date.
Sugar is the best Welter & Middle King in the sports history.
Roy was a good boxer with plenty of athletic ability but did not have the over all skill game that Sugar Ray had.
I would probably have Jones in my top 50 some where based on his athleticism more so than his boxing skills.
Top fifty of all time is pretty high level when you think of all the men who fought as champions and contenders.

I am not sure whether he was the best fighter of all time, but from a technical perspective he was certainly the most gifted! He was like the Bo-Jackson of boxing in the physical sense, Roy Jones Junior had the ability to do things physically which defied the Laws of Newtonian Physics.
