The important part is dedication combined with natural god given skill. Too often the ones with skill take it for granted and the hard workers lack skill.

Andre Ward has a wonderful interview about that. I wish I knew the title off of the top of my head. He talks about Virgil wanting him to work on his inside game when he became a pro and how he had to do drill after drill, day after day, until he reached mastery. It ****** but it was worth it in the long run.

Idk where you surmised that from my comment. I never even hinted at that. What I Did say is he is the most skilled fighter I've ever laid eyes on. He's done things in the ring I've never seen and probably never will see again. You should watch some film studies on Floyd, it will make you appreciate what he's done in the ring.

the battle with ones self is usually the toughest one. gotta break down your limitations and ''weaknesses''. this is why i admire smart fighters so much. they may not be the most exciting guys to watch ''action'' wise, but to see them make such beautiful adjustments....a sight to behold.

I think you are miscontruing SKILL and TALENT my good homie. Talent is God given and God gifted. Skill is honed painstakingly over years and years of practice, repetition, and study.
There's a difference between a skilled basketball player (Tim Duncan)
And a talented basketball player (JR Smith)

That's because most "action" = brain damage...or ****** fighting as I call it.

Yeah, I do like the "golovkin gets hit on purpose" excuse, rather than just saying...he gets hit because his defense sucks.

I'll die in the ring? That's because those guys are wannabe tough guys... real men know at the end of the day, this is a sport, it's dangerous and your wife and children don't want you getting killed for nothing more than a game. If you're that selfish, then I feel sorry for all those close to you.

                    ^^^^

                    basically.

it appears those same tough cu/nts would rather retire than ''die in the ring'' !!!!!

those tough guys think their fans will be there to support them when they become vegetables. the harshness of reality hits them too late.

                      Robinson
                      Armstrong
                      Leonard
                      Duran
                      Etc
Good post, In particular I would highlight Robinson and Ali as I believe they were far ahead of their time and were catalysts to many other great fighters lacing up boxing gloves. You hear so many legends citing Robinson and Ali for a reason.
