Sugar Ray Robinson was great and I don't mean to imply Napoles was better than him. Robinson was before my time while Napoles was a personal favorite fighter of mine.

From all I've seen of him on videos, I'd pick Sugar Ray Robinson his record speaks for itself, I doubt anyone from this era could come close to touching him, there isn't really anyone clearer to pick other than him, picking a second name to SRR is nigh impossible, It's a toss up of whatever you like.

I just doubt some of the modern era greats of now could even compete in that type of era SRR was from, there's no soft touches and you can't just fight whenever you feel like it, a modern great of our era would probably be an average fighter in those days, obviously not all of them but a good portion simply wouldn't make it as greats.

While I was bragging up my favorite all time boxer, Jose Napoles, I forgot about one of his best wins. When Napoles was 29 he defended his welterweight title against the great and still near prime 31 year old Emile Griffith. He dropped Griffith and scored a dominate points win. No welterweight and few middleweights ever beat Griffith by such a wide margin.

I think Salvador Sanchez deserves considering if we're talking skill.

His speed was the fastest in heavyweight history.

His defense was impeccable. No one could touch him.

He was ranked P4P #1 as a heavyweight. And to my understanding, the only heavyweight to perform such a feat.

If we was so skilled how come be didn't beat anyone of merit? And show some class name calling because we have different opinions? Who are you Donald *****?
when he was motivated he was one of the most skilled fighters I've ever seen in my life most certainly heavyweight. mike was a ticking bomb though man. the guys got high off coke in every big fight & ****ed whores left and right he was mentally weak for coke and destroying his body. do you really think a man like mike tyson cared about discipline and treating his body right? at one point he did but when the big money and fame came he went into coke land and these are all facts.

I was wondering when someone would mention Roy. Prime Roy? VERY hard to beat. He just didn't have solid fundamentals to fall back on.
