according to loughler gbp and canelo have already agreed to 160 and have made no ridiculous demands as far as split so i cant imagine team ggg will not agree to their demands if even loughler himself said team canelo are negotiating seriously and with realistic demands. One things for sure if team canelo is being reasonable and team ggg declines the fight saying they want 45/55 or something unrealistic public perception is going to flip on ggg 10 fold.

I think this fight is going to be made for september and i dont think canelo vacating will have any real effect besides taking away teams ggg only real leverage. take out all the emotion and its obviously a very smart move by canelo even if he has every intention on fighting ggg next

But he gots a point. Keep it moving. Also this reminded me of how much it sucks for a fighters resume to have more titles cuz he's just gonna have more bs mandatory's no one cares about seeing that'll reduce his chances to have meaningful fights.

If these alphabet groups were legit serious about making boxing better they'd make a #1 contender tournament to decide on one mandatory a year for a guy with more than 1 belt. Its bs he's forced to fight more bs guys the more titles he has.

Why would there be any drawn out negotiations? Now that the meaningless trinket is outta the picture, the fight should be simple to make. Canelo is the clear A-side, so he'll get a bulk of the money. And Canelo fights at 155. Which shouldn't be a problem for Gennady because he's already said he can make 154. This whole time Team GGG has been saying they wouldn't fight for the belt under 160. Now that the belt is gone, GGG needs to step up to the plate and make this fight happen. And not hide behind pointless mandatories against plumbers and cab cab drivers.

They said they would fight Floyd at 154 cause its a big name big money fight but woouldnt have fought Canelo at 155 cause he was the Champion at 160. Well belt gone so now does GGG want that big name big money fight at 155 or claim another belt and still have nothing to show for it.

Been saying for awhile that GGG is wasting his time and at his age time is not on his side. They dropped the ball with the Ward fight and IMO should take the belt and fight Canelo at 155/157.

If not then time to open that pocket book and give the names big money cause 1.5 isnt much these days.

That's optimistic. K2 still should refuse to fight Canelo at a CW. Canelo is lineal and ring mag MW champ. He can't make 154. He's a MW.
