Let's see what makes sense. Keep the belt and fight at the mandated wbc purse split which I think is 55-45 or drop the belt and make the fight at 70-30 and win the belt back after he whoops lil Gs azz? Hmmmm that's an easy one.
... or drop the belt and make the fight at 70-30at 155, sometime in 2017-2018?
Why are you randomly mentioning money issue? Is anywhere in this article it talks about money. You are just hoping it has to do with money so you can defend Canelo, but its obvious to everyone that Canelo did this so he doesnt have to move up to 160. All previous articles have always talked about Canelo not willing to move up in weight but you are bent on believing its a money issue and its GGG fault, based off imagination and hope.
It's not remotely random, given both sides have stated that weight has not been a problem during negotiations.
This fight was a couple of days away from going to purse bid, which per the WBC rules states a 55/45 split.
That basically mean, he will fight GGG next year and vacating the WBC belt leaves him with no time frame in which to negotiate. So he can continue fighting 2 or 3 more times, at 155lb, against drained middleweights or guys moving up and making money on HBO PPV. All without actually having to fight GGG for as long as he chooses.
But I'm fine with this. GGG should just fight for the WBC belt, unify with WBO next year and tell Canelo to **** off.
This is a cowardly move from Canelo. He thinks he's above the game and has just used that WBC MW title to sell a **** fight with a WW carrying a bit of extra fat.
It's damn obvious why he's done this. Golovkin should walk away from negotiating with him, take the belt and go for a Sauders/Jacobs fight. Once he has the WBO belt he moves up.
Lmaooooo don't bother man. The ******ation I've seen from Canelo fans is staggering. These guys are either gay or ******ed. No rational man would suggest what they are.
... it's not "******ation"... usually, those low life scums hold a low "human development index" as well... it's not their fault, doe...
The denial and delusion in this thread is reaching Charlie Z levels. Occam's razor - Canelo dropped the belt because he/GBP didn't want the fight. You don't drop the BIGGEST negotiation tool to negotiate a fight, GGG has stated his goal of unifying the titles and Canelo just dropped the biggest bargaining chip. This fight is not happening.
This was the biggest fight to be made in boxing right now and it's all gone down the drain. At least Danny Jacobs is next in line for Golovkin instead of another Wade level opponent.
Canelo is now in between a rock and hard place - is he going to kill himself to try and get back to 154 or is he gonna move up to 160 and look bad? Or will he stick to 155 and continue to lose respect?
