GG was a fellow MW champ, he was Canelo's mandatory, and Canelo knew when he signed to fight Cotto that the winner had to fight GG. He knew when he put a voluntary in to fight a WW in Khan, that he had to fight GG afterwards.

No official talks ever took place where the specifics were discussed, and Andre hasn't been in any position to have had a big fight within the past few years, due to lawsuits, injuries and inactivity. He had 19 months out before fighting Smith, and he had 9 months out before fighting Barrera. He still isn't in a position to have a big fight. You're kidding yourself if you think Andre was willing and able to have fought GG, but it was GG who blocked it.

What happened to the Post fight BS he was talking? It was clearly leading up to the Khan fight based on what everybody from GBP was saying from Oscar to B-Hop to Eric Gomez, it was clear that they had ZERO interest in making that fight

Predictable thought, he is going to fight Lemiuex the Tureno Johnson then he MIGHT fight a Older GGG September 2017 or he might even wait until May 2018

Yet boxing fans are wondering why Ratings are very average for boxing and continues to DECLINE! Sad thing about all of this is that nothing will be held against Canelo for this move, not from the Media or His Fans he will continue to draw, he will continue to get support from his fanbase

The Cotto/Smith/Brook fights are potentially big money fights, and so are Jacobs/Saunders/Eubank..... Canelo will make far more than Golovkin, no matter who he fights.

If money is the issue, then what other lucrative options does GGG have ?

Nobody would pay Golovkin even half-as-much as Canelo.

You can't use money/options as an excuse.

If Golovkin has been willing to fight Ward, then he would have as many options as Canelo..... but he wasn't willing to fight Ward.

Yea, that's because they know that Canelo is not a liar, and that he has a very good resume..... whereas Golovkin is a liar, and he doesn't have a very good resume'.
