Forget that 3 year gap dude, they stated that they could beat anyone from 154-168 LAST YEAR.
I said that they have been making that comment for THREE YEARS, not that they made it three years ago.
And only last August Team Golovkin stated that Gennady could beat everyone at 154.
According to their recent claims, Golovkin could have fought Ward AND Canelo..... but he chose not to, and he used weight as an excuse.

Would you give Golovkin an enforced 45% split when you know it should be in the 70/30 region?

He's a fellow champ and was his mandatory.
What is wrong with you?
But in the real world he hasn't doesn't jack shit to earn that kind of split. He's never produced revenues on the same level as Canelo. It is what it is.
So Canelo will simply drop the belt and be free to negotiate a more appropriate split.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 05-18-2016, 09:50 PM.

I cannot believe Golovkin ducked the 155lb weight division. It then forced Canelo to reluctantly vacate the belt, rather than belittle the history , the dignity, and long list of proud 155lb champions that ever graced the ring.

Again, Canelo's options aren't as great as what you think.
You don't know he'll get Brook, and I think it's realistic that GG gets to Jacobs and Saunders first.
Again, sooner or later Canelo will have to move up to MW. Because he'll have run out of CW's and his body won't hold out.
Then what?
If when he steps up to MW, GG has all of the belts, what does Canelo do?
He'd be in a position where he couldn't go any lower, he couldn't go any higher, and GG would have all the belts.
Canelo would be stuck.
I think that's bull****.
1) Brook would fight Canelo tomorrow.
2) Jacobs/Saunders are both more likely to fight Canelo than Golovkin. They have both shown no interest whatsoever in Golovkin, and both of those guys would obviously prefer a much better payday and much better exposure against an easier opponent.
I completely disagree, Canelo has much better options than Golovkin does.

Why not hold Floyd to his bs of well he called me out referring to jmm and Robert Guerrero forgetting that he was called out by margarito, pwill, winky, ***y Sergio, and GGG just to name a few.
But you bash GGG any chance you get with your bs agenda

Again, he didn't have to enforce the mandatory against Cotto, because he could fight for the IBF belt, knowing that the Cotto-Canelo winner had to eventually fight him or vacate.
He then allowed the Canelo-Khan fight to go ahead, because he got a mandatory out of the way, thinking that Canelo and Oscar would sit down with them afterwards.
Again, a Ward fight wasn't really viable.
You're now starting to debate like a child. Your so called facts haven't allowed for any circumstances. But that's what happens when you're completely biased.

I think Canelo will dwindle as a cash cow if he doesn't fight GGG. I'd love to see Canelo vs J-Rock, Andrade, or a Charlo, but I don't think those are solid money fights. And considering they're with Haymon it'd probably be a lofty price tag.
I know personally I won't pay to see him fight Rosado. And I can't help but feel those are the fights lined up for Canelo.
I fear the day that we say Canelo did a better job beating Danny Garcia than Floyd did. That's probably the future of boxing too.

Same person that post Khan interview seemed like he would do anything to fight GGG, but when negotiations start, the ducking begins.
There is absolutely no way that Golovkin is getting 45%, he just isn't. If they are not willing to bend on that, it's their loss.
