This is a very very poor argument put forth by Eric Gomez

Gomez must be getting coked out with Fishnets. They are 2 separate things. GGG has every right to want to fight Canelo at 160. He also refused Ward at 168.

GGG didnt own the wbc 168 and ring championship at 168 but fight at 162

        Big difference. Those are facts

Ward fans=floyds leftovers , are clinging on the fact that GGG SAiD he could beat anyone from 154 to 168.

Thing is he didnt say it to lose leverage , he said it to get his name out there and circulating. It worked. Wards team cant stop taalking about him. And almost all teams at 154 and 160 cant stop talking about avoiding him.

He beats canelo or cotto when had the belt
        He becomes the next pacman.
        An international superstar.
Canelo is trying hard to keep his status and avoid becoming that victim like oscar did
To floyd and pac. Oscar set their careers on another level.

GBP is selling this all wrong! You're not moving up a weight class, you're demanding a catch-weight for 2 middleweights. Therefore, get them to the table, and then make the offer for a catch-weight, and make it the same as ODLH vs. Hopkins: 157. You have two legends at GBP that have already done it. Now that's how you put pressure on GGG! If he refuses, then make the fight with B-Hop @ 168. If he refuses both, you hand him his belt, and keep it movin'! Canelo can get more fights @ 155, than GGG can get @ 160, and he's only 25!

he refused a garbage offer. Thats a different matter.

For example, if GGG came out today and said he'd fight Ward at 168 for a 90-10 split his way, and Ward refuses, is that a duck? Of course not, because its a ridiculous offer.

              just by logic:

how can Canelo "move up" to another division if he already is the belt holder of exactly that said division?????

The things i have to hear in this life....

i have 1 question. other than speaking through the press, was GGG v. Ward ever even a podsibility? when was the last time Ward even fought at 168? 3 yrs ago? lol. ok, that was more than 1, but u get my point

Please stop. I didn't say he ducked. He refused the offer, which is a fact. You labeling it as garbage is because you are a GGG fan and are making an excuse for those actions.

This is the same BS from Manny fans when it comes to his refusing offers for Floyd. When a man makes a decision, that is his decision and he has to wear it. I understand his decision contradicts what you think about him and how he has been marketed. Yes, GGG has been avoided and ducked by big names at MW.

Fans should accept the fact that GGG, despite what you want to believe, operates just like any other boxer with an HBO deal nowadays-he will avoid the fights he could lose until the big payday comes. He will make any big money fight that's easy to win. Then if successful, he will continue to fight less than stellar comp until the next big fight happens.

So Sergio, Cotto and Canelo did to GGG what GGG did to Ward. Its not worse when they did it nor is it justifiable when GGG did it. This is how boxing goes on HBO now-build a star by giving him showcase fights and then a big fight.

HBO doesn't want another Donaire situation.

Lil' Gina can't use the belt as a reason, he sold that reason accepting the step aside fee.
