ESPN and most other sites has Stevenson as the Lineal. The Ring Magazine for some reason has it vacated as of 11/2015.

The lineal championship is such bull s h i t. Stevenson sucks. Canelo fought Cotto at 155 and Sergio was a cripple when Cotto won the title. When there as ONE REAL TITLE and not a 1/2 a dozen it meant something. It just sounds ****** these days.

Boxrec doesn't go by lineal titles. Their rankings are broken, pretty sure Canelo was top 10 p4p even after the embarrassment to Floyd. Useful for ballpark rankings, that's all

It could easy be settled , put them in the ring with out this ducking BS CW and see what happens , Im very confident Ward will school him he has so much more skill as a fighter , we seen years of Floyd nullifying big punchers and Ward will do the same to GGG , Gennady has the power but lets see what happens when its against an elite opponent that can really fight that has a little size on him .
So where do you want them to meet? No matter what weight class you set it at Ward is so much bigger than Golovkin. Catchweights should exist for situations like this, rather than what Canelo is doing.

Canelo should fight Lemieux at 160 to test the waters, see if he is competitive or not at that division, FOR REAL. See if he can take real punches and hurt real middleweights with his.

In the meantime, GGG would get another juicy step-aside fee, and he can fight Lara who has been "challenging" him, and maybe for the 1st time in his life, he would actually fight a boxer who I believe will not allow him to knock him out in the early rounds. Somebody who would actually test whether or not GGG has any skills and stamina, or just brute power in the early rounds.

If they both won convincingly, Canelo-GGG should be made right afterwards, otherwise Canelo would prove to be the biggest chicken in boxing in this era.

Then why was lil'G too chicken to fight Ward ?

              This article is correct.

HBO are protecting lil'G, because they think that they can make money off him..... and lil'G is going along for the ride.

He was a green rookie, why spout all that rubbish ?

And, you know deep down in your heart that Ward will beat Kovalev.

                Not long to go now.

                  EXACTLY yoshik !

Many great fighters never had a chance to become a lineal champ..... because there was no such thing, back in the day we had a real champ.

And yet, listen to the fanboi's tell us how important lineage is, when it suits them.

A lot of clowns on this site have their knickers in a twist because a few silly organisations have ranked Canelo ahead of Golovkin because of lineage..... despite the fact that Canelo has never fought a middleweight opponent, not one..... EVER!

That HeroBando idiot is here asking the author whether Canelo will still be the lineal champ if the WBC decide to strip him LMAO

No, I didn't forget about them.

Abraham, Kessler, Bika are not better than Lemieux, Murray, Geale.

Kessler is better, however 168 Dawson is worse
