Instead they had a meeting, probably about letting the fight marinate a little bit and then they'll talk again, so they chose option 3, letting Canelo fight 1 or 2 times. The WBC was clear that Canelo had to fight GGG unless they can come up with an agreement with K2. So yeah, I still see people getting fooled into not knowing, or acting like they didn't read the news of Loffler confirming they already met after Cotto-Canelo.
I don't think team Canelo would be shaming themselves in the press daily if that 15 day deadline was not binding

The WBC has already sat down with the promoters to discuss their plans. What was decided was that Alvarez would fight Golovkin after a voluntary defense. No reason to discuss anything else with them. The WBC should tell Alvarez that he will either fight Golovkin in his next fight or he will be stripped.

However, that is not what the WBC will say. Sulamain will come up with some type of excuse to allow Alvarez to fight three more journeymen before he is forced to step in the ring with Golovkin or whoever his mandatory opponent may be.

Anyone who thinks the WBC is going to strip Alvarez for not fighting Golovkin is a dumb as a box of rocks!

WBC is garbage. They showed their true colors with BUM SQUAD Wilder.

I think it's pretty obvious Canelo GGG won't be happening until at least May 2017. GGG needs a big fight desperately by years end, be it Jacobs at MSG, Saunders or Degale in the UK, or Ramirez in LA somewhere..

His opponents are getting ridiculous even to us fans of him.

This Fight won't happen until Golovkin submits to the catchweight

That shouldn't be a problem, Canelo just needs to give up the belt first

I can't see the WBC making a popular mexican champ give up the belt for a talented no-one

                  Exactly !

As opposed to the WBO or the IBF, and even the WBA for that matter ?

It's a turd polishing contest, no way can you definitely state that one is better than the other..... boxing doesn't need ANY of them. They are all horribly flawed, and none of them are definitive.

None of them have got it right, and none of them have ever had it right.

Canelo has fought Floyd, Trout, Lara and Cotto
I don't think he won't get in the ring with Golovkin.
Now on the other hand his trainers, managers, Oscar , fans and Sulaiman may think otherwise.

I have come full circle, I think GGG should negotiate the Canelo fight, as much as it kills me to say it. He needs a big name, If he could come down to 158 or 157 Canelo would have no excuse. I know Canelo must drop the belt if he doesn't fight GGG, but the only other fight at 160 is Saunders. GGG is 34 and needs a big name or else he will have to go to 168. He seems to make 160 easily enough.
