Guy who had a win in Amateurs over Kovalev, he's a monster.
This guy would also crush Ward, and possibly Kovalev

The amateur's have nothing to do with how fights would play out in the pros

Both of them kick beterbiev's ass

Ward was a better am n definitely a better pro....its levels to this....a washed up cloud n no names have no indication of how he'll deal with ward
...kid gets his ears boxed off

Ward is arguably the hardest to hit clean in the game n will be sharp as **** when he fights kov....he knows the risk

Wgp has beaten ward pillar to post?

Dude hasn't lost a fight since his peach fuzz sprouted

Its an even fight but kov is not a one punch hitter n I doubt he will land enough to ko him....couldn't even ko Hopkins

          Be prepared to be disappointed

Kov is a very good fighter I like him too

          You are underrating ward plenty

You can't ko what you can't hit enough

Popkins went 12 rounds with him

Pascal went past 6 both times n isn't hard to hit on the elite level....he has a bad habit of leaning to the right...that's a mistake and your head is at the end of a right hand doing that

It was only a matter of time

Ward blocks the right, can slip it, smother his opponent , counter it.

Kov is a good fighter but skill wise, know how, and natural talent....ward is superior IMO

Kov has no inside game, isn't the slickest guy and throws the same combinations....jab jab straight...jab jab overhamd n can end it with a hybrid jab/ hook

He is dangerous but he is not just gonna run through ward

A thinking fight he'll lose... He is exactly Bob foster....kov has to wear you down on the elite level n ward is definitely a better fighter than a 50 year old popkins n worn out pascal

Kov only chance is ko....he'll get outboxed is more likely. Ward isn't gonna roll over if the right gets rough

While there is a big difference between the ams and pros, you can't say it has 'nothing' to do with......

It is still an indication of ability. And Ward will never step up and take Beterbiev next, 'the kid' would wreck AW.
I think Pascal would be a good next tune up, if Ward insists he needs one

              Opinions.
Much like some are saying Ward is not getting enough credit - many are not giving Kov enough cred as a boxer.

its all opinion based. This is a boxing forum

he is a good boxer just doesnt have the skill set of ward who can do it all and fight any style in the ring

based off what i see...ward is more versatile than Kov and is the better athlete...kov will be wasting his time fighting a tactical fight with ward...stay in his lane...he wont land enough to get the ko either. some people are overrating his power. He hasnt blast out one good fighter yet he is gonna blast out ward who is better than everyone he has fought

Beterbiev is a good fighter would get his ears boxed off. Would get embarrased and every decent fight he faced was shop worn. AB has no jab...punches wide af...no head movement...is very basic....he'd get schooled by ward...with that wide legged stance he is gonna get turned and countered to death.

                beterbiev is a hype job....good fighter...prospect resume....knocking out fughters who been ko'ed already...big deal

Ok mate - I hope Ward feels the same way about Beterbiev - then we may get to see the fight.
Kovalev has many strengths, and while I agree that Ward definitely is the better defensive boxer, I don't think Ward's strong points give him a big enough edge to override Kivakev's strong points.
One thing we all agree on - it is a mouthwatering match and we're all looking forward t it

Ward by close decision. Hope I'm wrong, and it pains me to even say that because Kovalev is possibly my favorite fighter to watch right now. But if I was forced to bet my house I'd have to pick Ward. I don't think he has been pushed out of 2nd gear in his life and has plenty in the tank if he needs it. He's just so good at so many different ranges and styles that it's impossible for me to bet against him right now. That said, I'm rooting for Kovalev by devastating knock out.
