Much like some are saying Ward is not getting enough credit - many are not giving Kov enough cred as a boxer.
It has nothing to do with not giving Ward credit. Saying fighter A beats fighter B doesn't mean you aren't giving fighter B credit. Fighter A may just be the better fighter, or may just be a stylistic ether for fighter B, and fighter B could be the better fighter overall.

Wgp has beaten ward pillar to post?

Dude hasn't lost a fight since his peach fuzz sprouted

Its an even fight but kov is not a one punch hitter n I doubt he will land enough to ko him....couldn't even ko Hopkins
He hasn't lost yet, but everyone's time will come, until it doesn't. Kovalev does have that one punch power, but he also is a very good boxer and will land combinations on Ward. Ward will be a bloody mess by round 7 or 8, this is a fight you don't take your children or spouse to see, you don't even let your kids watch at home. The kind of brutality that would happen on fight night, that's not for everyone man.

Gatti-Ward...it wont be...when has Ward ever been battered in a fight? Hard to hit is hard to hit and Kovalev doesnt have much punch variety. He is a very good fighter. The fight will be competitive until the first one adapts...it will be a tactical fight and that will favor ward. Who can fight inside(kov not as skilled inside)....mid range while slipping and countering...and is faster on the outside and has faster footwork...I think Ward will adapt to the style better than the other way around

The problem is, even if Ward is a step ahead, he will still take punishment adjusting to Kovalev's speed and rythym. I see even early rounds with Ward adjusting first, then Kovalev re-adjusting, then Ward re-adjusting again in the mid-late rounds, and Kovalev figuring him out and just punishing him. Kovalev isn't one dimensional, and he is a smart fighter and he is more economical with his punch selection than someone who is content with staying mid range and popping off jabs as noise and a deterrent to his opponent developing advances. Kovalev will come forward and throw efficient, hard, accurate shots, and Ward will take punishment throughout the course of the fight. In the round it takes to figure out Kovalev's current pace in the fight, Ward probably walks back to his corner bleeding from both eyes and nose. That's the difference. Ward will land on Kovalev, especially later in the fight, but he won't have that effect on Kovalev. If he doesn't get put to sleep or the corner/ref spare him, he has to win on points, and I think it's a close fight if it goes to the cards, though I can see Ward winning it legitly, he is the more accurate puncher and the faster puncher, and Kovalev while good defensively and smart, is willing to eat punches to deliver his own, and he should, because his shots will have much more effect than vica versa.

But if I was forced to bet my house I'd have to pick Ward. I don't think he has been pushed out of 2nd gear in his life and has plenty in the tank if he needs it. He's just so good at so many different ranges and styles that it's impossible for me to bet against him right now. That said, I'm rooting for Kovalev by devastating knock out.
Pretty good assessment before the fight.

I think Ward's inactivity will work against him, and I think that much like he did against B-Hop, Kovalev will rise to the occasion, and prove he is truly special.

                  King Kov stops Ward late.

Kovalev doesn't even have that one punch power like Adonis has. His punches are more crisp, and every punch and combinations adds more to the mutual damage, resulting his opponents to taste canvas. I'm not saying that Adonis is a better boxer, he isn't, but Kovalev doesn't have that kind of one punch power that sent Dawson in KO in the first round, I don't remember seeing anything like that from Kovalev, even if you can't argue he's a solid knockout artist, he relies on combinations more

I've chosen Ward by decision, but I have no disillusions that Krusher could end this fight
