It should happen in November, and the only name Ward needs to think about facing is Beterbiev.

Beterbiev's amateur record is like 300 wins and 5 losses.. he has more power than Kovalev and he beat Kovalev not once but TWICE in the amateurs!

Oh I remember him, I think he fought on ShoBox once. He needs to get his ass in the ring ASAP. There's no excuse for a 9-0 prospect to be sitting on the shelf for a year. Especially at his age.

Kovalev if its tomorrow. If Ward can sharpen up his defense, and look crisp as he did at 168, Id say Ward all day, but that Ward that fought Barrerra would have gotten stopped.

Normally Id be inclined to agree, but I know from several sources that Ward has been in the GYM and sparring his entire layoff with the exception of injuries. He should have been sharp. Its like he sat around doing nothing for a year.

I completely agree, he was not that impressive, if you stay in the gym and spar and workout you should still be sharp, even with minimal sparring he should be sharp, even just training with bagwork and conditioning, and then doing heavy sparring during the camp for Barrera should have been enough for him to return to form, especially if his walk around weight is close to his fight weight.

But I don't think he beats Kovalev coming in sharper. We will see. It's a good fight.
