That's pathetic. Who else unified an entire division without fighting at division limit?

Technically, Canelo got a stripped/vacated title himself. Once they stripped Cotto, the title should have gone to GGG anyways.

Oh, your gonna pretend Lara is an actually option. Fools.

Go to SMW to find a bunch of Haymon fighters who won't fight him. Sure!

I'm sure he will. Especially when it's attached to scaring off the supposedly next Floyd.

Everyone will know Canelo opted out of defending his title because of fear.

Everyone knows Canelo rehydrates heavier than GGG.

If Canelo is scared, so be it. Add him to the long list of MW champions who gave ducked GGG.

Your probably a guy who touts Angulo and Kirkland as good wins for Canelo.

GGG beat Ishida, who was the first to KO Kirkland (not weight drained version), who beat Angulo.

GGG has crushed guy who crushed guys that Canelo couldn't crush.

Really, since when does GGG skip his mandatory. If that's CANELOS plan, he's more of a vagina that we thought.

That's a bit different. If GGg/Canelo fought but Canelo was stripped before the fight because of weight or not paying the sanctioning fees then I'm cool with it because if/when he wins he still beat the guy who beat the guy who beat the guy

But if it's just handed to him without facing Canelo and he fights another no name no hoper then it's BS. He hasn't beaten 1 decent name to get a belt. As a fan of GGG I'm more concerned with the names he fights then the belts he collects.

The guy who walks into the ring at 175, is trying to say allowing his opponent to walk in at 170 is an advantage.

Let me know when Manny or Floyd drained a fighter who were lighter than them?
A-Side all day. A-side De la Hoya made reigning champ Hopkins come down in weight and not only did Hopkins come down to the agreed weight, he went past it and was still able to KO Oscar.

A-side Manny made Cotto come down for their championship fight and A-side Floyd made Canelo come down for their championshp fight.

Shit or get off the pot Triple DDDuck.

I'm a GGg fan and a Canelo hater. But GGG team said anyone can get it 154-168. His team did their best to avoid Ward like the plague cool, even though why the recent talk about Degeale ? They wanted Mayweather at 154 a small WW on his way out. They said 154 is no problem.

Canelo is the biggest name and $ available to GGG they should do what Evers needed to make the fight if that means 155 so be it , because if no Canelo I don't really see any other decent options for GGG.
I thought you've been around long enough to know that EVERY fight has its own negotiations, and like snowflakes, no 2 are alike. On what planet would a fighter offer the exact same concessions to EVERY opponent, regardless of what they bring to the dance? Do you think each prospective opponent should be offered the same purse as well? Geez.....

Yep! B-Hop agreed to a 157lb. catchweight to face De La Hoya, and he came in @ 156, and De La Hoya came in @ 155. That's what champions do! Hopkins also came in @ 157, at age 36, and defeated Felix Trinidad. He unified the WBA, WBC, and IBF belts. Again, that's what champions do!

NONE of those examples involved a mandatory challenger. They accepted the terms because it was a voluntary fight and they wanted the money.

If GGG is willing to ********** himself to Canelo for a few nicklels, then thats his business. But he doesnt HAVE to, because he is the mandatory challenger. He can force Canelo to unbuckle the belt and hand it over......

              1. The same WBC that allowed Canelo to fight a second rate 147lber (M Hatton) for their 154lb title?
              2. The same WBC that allowed his defense against the #4 ranked contender (Rhodes, a joke all by itself) to count as a mandatory defense? When was the last time a alphabet organization let a defense against a #4 count as a mandatory.
              3. The same WBC that allowed Canelo to defend the 154lb belt against not one but two career 140lbers (Gomez & Lopez)?

Bottom line, the WBC ain't stripping Canelo no matter who he does or doesn't fight. If they want this fight, team g string better get ready to make some concessions.
As far as the WBC goes you're right, there's no telling what they'll do but as far as the fight goes it will be a success because its the best fight to be made at middleweight, not because of Canelo alone.

This isn't Canelo vs Hatton, Lopez or Kirkland where you might hear people asking if your watching the Canelo fight that night, if this fight happens people will be talking about Canelo vs GGG, it wont be just another Canelo fight.

I just read through the WBC rules and I didn't see where there couldn't be a catchweight for the mandatory.

Can you please post the rule that states NO catchweights for mandatory fights?

Why should Canelo get to unify the MW division at 1 pound above JRMW.

Canelo apologist are exactly what's wrong with boxing.

The WBC had recently been sued for 31 million dollars for crap like this, team GGG got it in writing, WBC isn't gonna risk another huge lawsuit.

2 things what is this 30 million dollar lawsuit you speak of and if you think the WBC will strip Canelo, as Teddy Atlas says, you're lying to yourself

These guys need to stop being ******* and make the fight happen already. Either go down in weight (GGG) or go up in weight (Canelo.) Either or, what's the big deal. Hell, just let them fight at their comfortable weights - Canelo at 155 and GGG at 160. Is five measly pounds really gonna make a big difference?

                      I get what your saying

I know that negotiations aren't goin to be exactly the same but K2 has been vocal about anyone can get it 154-168. Canelos probably the biggest $ man right now if he insists on 155 then I think GGG should do it

it's mostly just a d.ick meSuring contest between the 2 sides at this stage but Canelo is the $ man and if K2 GGG want the fight they're goin to have to concede to most of Canelos demands.

I've said it earlier I think GGG beats down Canelo. And I'm a fan of Gennady and Canelo is one of the fighters I always root against but Canelos in the drivers seat, I just would rather have GGG fight Nelo for the belt then it be handed it to him.
