I don't know if you remember but last year you argued with me for pages because I bet Ward's next fight would be in Oakland. Guess you're ok with it now but yes he's a a lifelong hometown attraction.

At least Berrera is a decent opponent though. I'm surprised somewhat.

This is a good introduction to LHW for Ward.

I fully expect Ward to hug, headbutt and hold/hit his way to a well-booed decision win.

That's a good fight. Barrera can fight.

Let's see if Ward can beat a real LHW. I have a feeling he goes back to 168 and calls out GGG!

              Fucking hilarious!

The No1 P4P King vs a 17 fight novice who isn't ranked in the top 10 by Ring, or any other independant rating org!

Back in the real world, Barrrera will be a good test for Ward, and HBO might not lose too much money screening it, but it won't be a PPV block-buster, that's for sure.

Good match-up for the fans and a good test for Ward, if it happens.

Nice introductory fight at 175 for Ward. Fairly dangerous too given his inactivity and aging. So he's fighting two Main Events fighters this year supposedly. Interesting.

Finally a good fight on the calendar. If you just BoxRec'd Barrera after seeing this thread or within the past week or two I fully understand why it doesn't excite you.

good measuring stick for ward. barrera seems a solid fighter, but if ward can't handle him comfortably then he's in a world of trouble against kovalev

Never rated Sullivan Barrera, he can't box.

Still can see Ward pulling out, though.
