Boy you guys are reaching for a reason to complain. The location of the fight? Really? As if it won't be broadcast to your home at roughly the same time regardless. And from what I remember Barrera trains in Cali so he won't have to worry about jet lag for this fight.

Barrera is a good fighter.....first they cried about he isn't active enough....which one is it...I'm starting to think that these so called fans don't like Ward because he is capable of beating fighters that they like and are big fans of...they'd rather he be inactive so they can use it against him

Andre Ward has wasted his boxing career losing $$$$$

Andre Ward could possibly be the worst managed fighter of all time who has squandered millions by just being ****** and getting terrible career advice by morons. Ward has overvalued his importance in boxing which is non existent. Sad to see a good fighter Ward wasting away to nothing. The idiots around Ward dispense horrible advice.

Stop waisting time fighting bums like froch and kessler, time to step your game up and he finally did it! But im sure ward stops him in round 1 with his powerfull punches! Ward is such an impressive powerfull fighter!

It would probably drop his stock. Barrera is a dangerous guy and hoping Ward takes him very serious. If he ends up fighting Barrera and Kovalev in 2016, that is by far the most dangerous 2016 for any fighter in boxing. If he wins clearly, they'll say, well he finally fought someone and it wasn't even a top 10 LHW. Regardless, Ward needs to take this guy as serious as Kessler and Froch. He's big, has power, he's taller with longer arms. Ward needs to win this and win this.
Yes. I am not a Ward fan (because of all his horse**** / career wasting), but if he takes this on then fair enough - a respectable enough opponent and he needs to dominate guys like this if he wants to be as big as his reputation. Hope he comes through and we eventually do get Kovalev vs Ward.

As an aside, is there a youtube link to that little clip of the guy climbing on the ropes and getting chinned, the one in your signature? Thanks.

"Ward has overvalued his importance in boxing."

That, right there, is absolutely spot on the money. The guy is a bit delusional, or a lot delusional. Premature talk of P4P went to his head, and he believed his own hype. He's a decent, if boring, operator, who maybe could have been so much more - the Froch rematch in UK, for example, would have solidified his reputation AND put millions in his bank account.
Many avid boxing followers now have a dislike for the guy because he has done nothing of note for years and years. I'm glad he's taking on a semi respectable opponent (if it actually happens), but supporters of his would have us believe he's doing boxing some massive favour by taking on a minor risk.

If he wins = good, we get to see Kovalev dismantle him. If he loses that's ok too, he can fight more bums in Oakland bingo halls. Not good for boxing, him and his attitude.

Ward knows better than all the other people. He doesn't need any advice.
