peter had maybe one legit knockdown. and t.o.s. only caught wk off balance. the ref didn't even start the count by the time wk was up. in fact, i think only wladimir's gloves touched the ground on that one. what happened after that? williamson got pretty damn scared as wlad went into beat down mode.

Why are so many pure boxers or former boxers picking Byrd over Wlad?

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoI have a serious question about this. While most people seem to be expecting another dominant performance by Klitschko, myself included, so many purists in boxing, whether current or former champions, are picking BYRD to win!! Among them are Roy Jones Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Lennox Lewis. Now here's where the serious part comes in. Do they want Byrd to win or do they truly think he will? I wouldn't bet 10 bucks on Byrd to win this fight, but these guys think he's going to win. Call it racism or whatever you want, but I gotta know why you think they're picking Byrd.

Dude seriously time heals all wounds.
I remember everyone saying Castillo was going to knock Wlad out. Then Peter was going to knock Wlad out. And now they're grasping straws and saying "Chris Byrd" is going to stop him.
Just wait ****ers. He's going to own the IBF/IBO belts after Byrd. And then simply walk through Sergei, Brewster in a rematch, Valuev, Rahman, Toney, Maskaev, Ruiz, Brock.

The first fight plays a monster role in this weekend's rematch.....because Wlad should be supremely confident based on that fight. He has no reason not to be.

I hope he does unify all the belts. So we can end this mess of a heavyweight division. I doubt he'll ever fight Valuev though. When a guy is fighting Owen Beck for his first title defense you know hes going to have hand picked opponents for a long time.

Sure that monster is a giant, and he's never been stopped. He's also facing a guy who knocks guys out who arent supposed to fall.
Mercer, Shufford, Barrett, Schulz, and several others had never been on the canvas before fighting Wlad.
His punching speed and power will overwhelm and slay the giant.
