Wlad looked mentally gone in there. Even Lucas Matthyse complained.

Where do you rank Wlad in the top 5 heavyweights of all time?

He would still have accomplished more at this stage of his career mostly age than anyother barring Lewis ,if you gave him Alis or Joe Louis's opponents do you really think hes gointg to have more difficulties ? The bait and switch criteria doesnt work here ,hes easily top 5 still not just in head to head but historical relevance . Using the 6'8 plus giant who has actual skills against a technically better boxer who had his lowest punch count to discredit his standings is weak and not remotley realistic win or lose!

All past champions have bad fights!!!
Ali didn't train at all for Leon Spinks, he went to camp and lost some weight and lost! He was a bum that night, and was also far past his best years.
Last night Wlad was a bum, he looked in shape but he refussed to lay it out on the line. He refussed to go for broke, now he wants a second chance?
He probably added a return clause in the contract. Personally Tyson will make a better purse with Wlad than anyone else so go for it.
If Tyson can straighten out his right hand then follow with the hook he'll KO Wlad!
However if he stands in front like all Wlads other KO victums did he'll get KO'd too.
Yoiu see if your paying attention youir seeing two guys that are NOT complete fighters in offense & defense and have flaws. The fact that their competition is brutal makes them look like something their not!

im sorry but you cant lose to this guy:
and expect people to respect your boxing career.
i respect wlad as a person but his excessive clinching and losing to the guy above have made me lose a lot of respect for him as a professional boxer and his place in boxing history.Last edited by SterlingStained; 11-29-2015, 01:16 PM.

We are talking about a fighter who dominated competition for the past 10 years. Only Joe Louis and Holmes rival that type of reign. To write Wladimirs accomplishments off over the past 10 years because at near 40 years of age and past his prime he lost to a younger and hungrier fighter is ridiculous. Wlad ranks in the top 10 of all time toward the back end, not top 5. And Tyson Fury was a class act in his win. I wish him the best.

To measure his overall talents as an offensive & defensive fighter along with ring generalship and willingness to win I rate him in the top 35. A few years ago I had him in top 50 so he's done well.
There are so many more heavies with better skills and determination than he displays. He gets moved down because his competition is so bad other than a handfull of decent opponents.
He was exposed last night by lateral moves and good head movement he couldn't adapt to using a double jab to get close then throw right hands.
He simply couldn't do the most basic combinations he needed to do to win.
He needs opponents who stand in front of him!!
To compare him to Ezzard Charles is a joke, he would probably beat Charles being 60lbs bigger and 6" taller but thats his genetics over coming a smaller man. Don't tell me he's a better skilled fighter because thats BS!
However a 5'10" 218lb Mike Tyson in his prime would reverse Wlads advantages and make them liabilties as Tyson moved under him and backed him up.
It's a speculation but thats how I see it. Top ten, no way I'll go with 31 best
