i think ggg canelo will be a very good fight, part of me thinks ggg will smother canelo and canelo wont be able to keep him off but another part me thinks canelo will be able to get combinations off on him all night. they will advertise it as a brawl but i actually think it will turn into a boxing match with big shots being landed here and there on both sides.

the one thing we did see saturday tho is no way ggg cotto was a fight that should been made and im glad it wont happen. that fight would of been beyond unfair for cotto ggg would been to big and cotto just doesnt have the right tools to even make a ggg fight competitive he would not of been able to keep ggg off him and i get why people think cotto should of fought him but if were being honest that fight had no business even being entertined.

canelo tho i think does have the right tools to make it a great fight and even win. i think canelo will get the benefit of close rounds like he always does and i actually think canelo will have the size advantage as well. its almost crazy how much canelo rehydrates too i mean he is ****ing huge

I always get a little frustrated at Canelo because I always want to see him bully guys and make fights ugly but he prefers to try to be a slick boxer more often than not. He definitely has his moments but to me he thinks he's Ray Leonard or something, which he definitely is not. That's also a big reason why Floyd took him to the cleaners. had he approached the Floyd fight like Maidana who knows what could have happened.

But what's interesting is that everything Canelo does that historically has made me annoyed- would probably work really well against GGG. I think Canelo might even have more speed as well. It's a very close fight.

Honestly, I don't even know that anybody gets KO'd if Canelo and GGG fight each other.

Would be a hell of a fight to see though.
Canelo has very little chance beating GGG at just about any aspect of the fight. By round 9 De La Hoya will be screaming to call it a day, with Canelo looking very much like Lemieux.

And it begins. And it should.

If I were a Cotto fan I'd be mad Canelo won like that, considering the size difference, Cotto never had much of a chance.

Having said that, Cotto should have come out and discussed that.

Hey I agree that GGG is a fantastic destroyer and I love to watch him fight- but you're short-selling Canelo a bit too much. I'm trying to be realistic about it and Canelo is a lot better than anyone GGG has faced up to this point.

I say bring it on! Mad respect for GGG, he is a straight beast. I saw a lot from Canelo that says the fight would be really fun to watch. Each guy is fighting at a high level.
GGG will have to come to Canelo's terms though. Not saying I agree with it but its the reality of the situation.

very few fighters get afforded the opportunities that canelo has with regard to competition, look at wlad for instance. canelo got his shot at the best boxer ever as a youngin and lost, he beat cotto, and now he's got a shot at the boogie man of 160, and he's just 25 years old. he's got a chance to turn out to be one of the greatest fighters of his era.

I predicted how the canelo/cotto fight would go. Bigger guy overpowers smaller guy over time. Canelo was NOT more skilled; he had around the same skill level. He was bigger and stronger. He didn't overwhelm or finish cotto, but he did deny him any ability to take control of the fight with power shots.

Canelo may now be a little sharper than he's been, but

-- He will never get in the ring with Golovkin.

              Ain't. Gonna. Happen.

He's a little bit smaller than GGG, and there's no way he should move up to 160 only to fight the guy who is by miles and miles the best MW in the world.

"155" is Spanish for "I'm not fighting you ever."

I don't know whether he's improved, or he was just in with a fighter that wasn't as good as Floyd, Lara, and Trout (I think all three beat Canelo.) Either way, I do remember watching the fight and thinking Canelo may present some issues for GGG if they ever fight. Canelo has faster hands. He's also better defensively. GGG's jab that he was applauded for in the Lemieux fight is gonna be they key. And I think it can be effective. Because I don't think Canelo is gonna be outta the fight physically or mentally the like so many do Gennady's opponents are the first time he lands something big. Nelo is by far the best fighter GGG will have faced. The same can't be said visa versa. And that means a lot of that level if the sport.

I don't think GGG hits any harder than Kirkland. So I don't think Canelo goes into shock yhe first time Gennady lands. I don't think GGG gets to be the seek n destroyer in this one. Like you said, its gonna be a boxing match. And I think Gennady is gonna have to keep Nelo at the end of his jab. Because he's not gonna win exchanges with Canelo. His hands are too slow and Nelo is better defensively.

Agree with a lot of that. I think they are essentially the same size/frame, both with a lot of power and accuracy. Golovkin probably has more power but Canelo has more hand speed and head movement.

I think Canelo will make good on the fight judging off the post fight interview on Saturday- he took fights that were ill-advised before with both Lara and Trout. I think Canelo's pride is the real deal.
