In a 15 round fight, Duran quits before the 10th. No way he takes 15 rounds of not hitting FMJ, plus tasting leather to the body and head. Duran did not have the temperament to beat FMJ and that has been proven throughout his career. Just watch the Benitez fight. Benitez was considered a defensive specialist. Picking Duran over FMJ is just silly.

and yes, duran had primitive skill against floyd mayweathers.
the only thing he had was determination until the 2nd fight with leonard and then we saw the bottle job he really was. leonard boxed his head off and hearns knocked him out so, that pretty much made him a fringe elite fighter.
not forgetting, he was beaten by the brixton ****er kirkland lang. the only fight where he beat a name was carlos palomino. everybody he actually did beat was fringe and everyone he lost to actually were greats but then, he lost to a bunch of nobodies too.
theres no point in overating fighters of old because their skills were primitive.
their were however exceptions which include hagler, leonard, hearns etc.
i was fortunate to see most of the fighters of the day and i can assure you that they are rated far higher now their retired than they were then.
ohh.....i nearly forgot...maybe he was on his way out when he fouled ken buchanan....he was nothing more than a very sore loser. like you.Last edited by richardt; 10-25-2015, 02:08 AM.

Thats why I said if Mayweather could beat any of the Fab4 it would be Duran.
But I agree that depends on which weight/version.
If Duran couldn't hit Ray with a handful of rice.....

Like Floyd would ever fight Duran in a 15 rounder, this has to be a joke ..There isn't one person of Floyd's resume that's even comparable to Duran .. Duran beat a greater fighter in Leoanard in Montreal ..Name a great Floyd beat that was on his level ? A past prime Oscar ? Floyd would get owned in every depth here ! This isn't Gatti,Gurrero ,Canelo Berto ,Hatton ,or the ever so dangerous Gurrero !
