    Lol no they are not.

Ward's career defining fights were Kessler where he was underdog and won the WBA title from Kessler in the process, and then won the WBC title from Froch to win the Super 6 tourney and also settle who is the champion at 168, winning the vacant Ring title by beating Froch. Sure beating Kovalev and Stevenson, or just Kovalev, would do wonders for his career at this point with his inactivity, adding a top 175 guy to his resume, and another notable win, but his career defining fights already happened.

Full credit for those wins, but the smw division has had the feeling of a bunch of A- , B level fighters taking turns beating eachother. I don't see kessler and froch being real standout guys...a win over stevenson or kovalev would be much more meaningful imo.

Stevenson? That would be a good win, but not better than Kessler or Froch. And SMW had A- and B level fighters beating eachother. MW has C level fighters and small JMW's, and then a good MW in GGG.

Kovalev would be a good win, but beating Kessler and winning the WBA title while underdog and then Froch to win The Ring/WBC/Super 6 is pretty f*ing meaningful. Way more meaningful than Golovkin beating Lemiuex or Lee, or Cotto..

Just saying, before you ridicule Ward vs Boone, Kovalev also struggled with him.
Let's not forget the second fight...

I respect your opinion...just to me, nobody in that division outside andre ward has really looked to be the goods. Kovalev more so than stevenson looks to be just that. And say what you will about cotto, but he will be a hofer...froch and kessler, not so much.

Nobody ever looked the goods at SMW, but at 160 you got a former JWW a he is a great win for Golovkin? Bute looked like the goods Froch was underdog to lose, Froch destroyed him, Froch and Kessler beat eachother. Froch beat Groves twice, Abraham, Dirrell, Pascal and upset Taylor. Yeah, not the goods. Lemieux, Lee, Rubio, Saunders are the goods though.

Groves might disagree with that assessment. The fact that guys like bika and abraham hung around for so long at the top of that division solidifies my point. I don't know how this became about the mw division either...i was saying i think ward needs to move up to progress his career at this point. We disagree on what will define wards career and thats fine, but according to you ward might as well retire right now cuz he's done it all.

You said he needs to fight at 175 for a career defining fight, I said he already has two career defining fights and they will not be topped, unless he goes up to HW and wins a major title. Kovalev or Stevenson won't top Kessler/Froch. I'm not sure where you got that I said Ward should retire because he has done it all.

Now you say that, now you say Ward should move up to progress. But earlier you said pretty boldly that he needs to move up to 175 for a career defining fight.

Bika and Abraham hung around but lost to the elites of the weight class.

Because questions are being asked to Andre Ward fans by Golovkin fans, so I use Golovkin's weight class to counter.
