When Calzaghe beat Kessler, he was a bum.

When Ward beat Kessler, he became a great win.

I've seen those types of dudes on here in NSB.

Very true, one of the reasons people develop a dislike for certain fan bases.

Ward was a relative unknown when the tournament started and didn't have much negotiating power against the likes of Kessler, Abraham and Froch. Why not fight at home if you have the option?

Just like regular people, in the real world you strive to make your job easier not harder. All the complaints about not fighting abroad is fan boy BS.
I'm not hating on him for taking full advantage and obviously negotiating that edge for himself. It just all adds to what some people call wards "diva" attitude. Who knows, if he had put himself out there a bit more he might have developed a better fan base by now.

you do not understand what the poster is talking about by acting like andre ward is a diva for fighting carl froch in atlantic city instead of nottingham, the hometown of a dude who lost to mikkel kessler [who ward compeltely embarassed.]

"ward negotiated for himself." shut the f#ck up! read what the dude wrote in reply to you. don't just hate a fighter and contructt your reality around your fanboyism / nine-year-old boyism. ward was in the begginnings of his career. he didn;t negotiate sh#T! he trained and fought. he had a manager and joe goosen take care of the rest, the way virtually all boxers do.

the rhetoric that tries to say that the best fighter in the world is somehow unworthy is the rhetoric of fear and resentment. you fear and resent andre ward. you're a fanboy. it is what it is. you're like children to a genuine boxing fan. almost all of you.

just mention andre ward's name and watch the 10 year olds come out of the woodwork.

you all wanted ward to fight "abroad" and get robbed by some country with no business hosting a world class boxing match [england, germany.] it never happened, although he did fight in AC, 3000 miles away, and have one judge almost call the froch fight [a whipeout] a draw

Lol take it easy. I don't even hate ward. I was talking about the whole tournament, not just the final. If his team didn't want him fighting in other countries, maybe they shouldn't have entered the super six then. That was part of the deal for everyone in the tournament...except ward

instead of complaining, why don't you try and contribute something practical. where is a more neutral sight than AC?

vegas is too close to oakland. AC is 3000 miles away.

foreigners don't understand the differnce between fighting in a neutral american location and fighting in your hometown. that much is abundantly clear.

maybe you'll have to get in a car and drive from the atlantic ocean to the pacific to get an idea of just how big this country is, and how from from ward's "hometown" AC is.

ward did travel. he traveled to atlantic city. it's a neutral sight, and it is 3000 miles away from where he is based.

are you seriously arguing against the existence of an american national identity?

Yea...you keep going back to that. He could have fought kessler in denmark or abraham in germany. In reality a truly neutral location would have been another counrty that neither fighter was from. Anyway...as a ward fan you should be more concerned about him reviving his stagnant career than fending off imaginary haters on forums.
