A very very interesting NEW article about Golovkin

Golovkin is very well trained and disciplined. Lemieux is still a dangerous opponent for anyone. Should be entertaining.

      Good article.

As far as the golovkin hate argument, I just find it very funny that his critics only want him to fight Ward. So an active fighter like golovkin is supposed to fight Ward 3 times per year? Anyone else is a bum? That shows you they know how excellent golovkin is as a fighter. He is held to a higher standard than anyone else.

No, that's not it. His critics want him to see him challenged. And as it stands, Ward is the only clear challenge around him.

What he's being catcalled for isn't some special thing.

Manny Pacquiao moved up in 2003 and fought #3 pound for pound Marco Antonio Barrera. Mayweather has done it, Jones, Hatton and countless others. If you can't get that big fight and you're that good, you don't make PPV's against David Lemieux, you do it against Andre Ward.

But let's give Golovkin a pass for now. He says unification (how?) and there is a chance he faces Cotto or Canelo. We'll see how it unfolds.

It's not the same scenario, Pacquiao and Mayweather naturally grew out of those lower divisions. Mayweather is a natural 147lb'er and has never fought someone as Good as Ward aswell as big in relation to the difference between GGG-Ward. Golovkin at 168 is the equivalent of Pacquiao at 147. He'll be out at a disadvantage at the class, but his skills will help him hang, moving up to face Ward in the first fight is unrealistic though. Which is why I was ok with the idea of a catchweight 166.

Ward was close to 168 a long time before the fight with Smith, so a catchweight should be no problem, both give a little to make the fight happen. Unfortunately, some fans think Ward should be never be required to make any compromises, ever, which is what makes these fights with him very difficult when he's not the massive attraction he seems to believe he is.

There's nothing to suggest Mayweather couldn't make 130, he simply had no takers. And nothing to suggest Pacquiao coild no longer make 122 either. Excuses.

Boxing analysis is, by definition, not an objective practice. You need to understand that. Otherwise one could qualify it via computation. We have to have some insight and ability to reasonably speculate. Nothing I said would be considered unreasonable by any normal standard. Your only interest is in defending Genady so take a lesson from the Matthysse indecent learn to make critical observations about fighters you like. I'll let you in on the secret; they ALL have flaws and they're only human.
Why don't you answer all the points? that's how rational human beings discuss. Don't run. Answer. You seem to have lost the argument. Now you are mentioning Matthysse... what has Matthysse to do here? if you actually knew me, you would know that I was very concerned about the fight with Postol and I thought it was a 50/50 fight... more concerned than what I was against Provodnikov. And you talk about Straw man when you make them all the time?

The truth is, the majority of the hate directed at GGG stems from the following:

                    1. He's white

                    2. He's exciting and is receiving tons of attention.

                    3. Many fans are supporting his style while thumbing their noses at the slick defensive style.

Pretty much sums it up, I have a hard time trying to comprehend how anyone can hate GGG. He's a humble, baby-faced, respectful guy. It's his piece of **** trainer Abel Sanchez that's giving many the impression GGG's a "douche". Regardless, GGG is the greatest thing in boxing since Tyson.
