Ward actually has a contract with HBO, same as Kovalev. He only fought Smith on BET because HBO didn't want to touch it.

The only contract Ward has with HBO at this time is as a commentator and even that is only when HBO can't find someone else to do the job.

Wow, he pretty much admitted that they ducked Ward until he finally gave up and went looking elsewhere for fights. He put it more gracefully than that but you can see that Golovkin is all about the $$ and has no interest in fighting the best. I think Mayweather took a cue from Genady when he chose to fight Berto. Except, people actually knew who Berto was.

We're just over 6 weeks out from Canelo/Cotto, and still no Ward fight announcement. I wonder if it's because he's refusing to give in to HBO's demand to commit to a Kovalev fight?

I know you guys wish that was the case. I see more and more that GGG fans/anti-Ward fans don't really care about Ward vs Kovalev, just the idea that Ward doesn't want to fight Kovalev to have a form of retaliation for the idea that Golovkin doesn't want to fight Ward.

I notice that Ward fans actually do want to see Ward vs Kovalev, and even Ward vs GGG. You GGG fans do not want to see Ward vs GGG and I see you could not care less about Ward-Kovalev. Ward not fighting Kovalev is just ammo for bickering and bantering for you guys.
