After watching that fight I no longer have to wonder why Wilder is staying clear of elite fighters. I also believe that the recent version of Povetkin beats him easy.
I pride myself on being open to crazy opinions if they have some logic behind them...and I must say hearing a minority of people talk about wilder's improvement in this fight and other such bon mots really puzzles me. If I were a Wilder fan I would be very let down... Wilder better call Charlie Z up for a rematch.
it seems like some people expectations are completely unrealistic for wilder. the guy he fought was an obvious pick of a fighter they knew wouldnt fall the first time he was hit flush and would keep coming forward. at end of the day people need to keep wilder in perspective no one is screaming he will crush povetkin but i sure as hell aint counting him out. i dont get the hate at all this was a very entertaining fight the guy did beat manual charr to get this chance at wilder. its like because povetkin wlad whoever else would be favorites over wilder hes automatically a bum. i actually thought he showed a lot of toughness and showed he can fight on the inside. i just dont get it its like people are expecting him to be the next greatest fighter ever or something he earned his title and hes going to fight povetkin thats a fact so the hate is pointless. so he took 2 fights to get ready instead of waiting for povetkin i dont see why thats such a big issue. Not to mention wilder is a fighter to be proud of and get behind even more so for americans i mean take some pride
I think you need to give the commentators a reality check with the way there talking about him ....because I can see it....u can see it.....but there talking like he will be the next great usa champ......they can't see beyond there nose

thats because some people are realistic and others are not.
You think dahaupus is the same caliber of Peter or sanders? I like Wilder and love his approach but let's not act like he's beating anyone of substance.
Sanders fought 3 rounds over 2 years before beating Klitschko. Please don't give me that bull ****. Duhaupas is and still is higher class than Sanders. Vitali made Sanders look exactly like what he was: A guy with a really good left hand that Wlad's fine China got caught by.
Unless Povetkin has crushing above-world-class power that I have not seen, nothing indicates that he'll just destroy Wilder. Wilder has a good chin, good speed, ridiculous power, and can throw bombs all night long. He looks like a rough night out for anyone right now.

Not improvement really, but I think this fight revealed some more of what he has - offensively at least.
Shut up you clueless idiot......who was this French frie he boxed....he was a slow footed plodder who had no power and just 1 gear......and yet wilder still was eating jabs and took some damage .....I gurantee you now povetkin will rip wilder apart and drop him heavily......God knows what Anthony Joshua will do yo him when he gets him in the ring.......the French guy should not even been in the ring in the first place. ....exposed next fight wilder will be
So you don't have an argument? Oh, OK
Sanders was a slow footed plodder with 1 gear that ripped Wlad's soul out so grotesquely that the poor guy never even asked for a rematch, Breidis Prescott style
thats because some people are realistic and others are not.
I mean the Frenchman was incredible. he was game and showed courage in spades....but when a guy is throwing maybe 15 punches a round... And you can get away from him fairly easily...at the very least Wilder should not have looked the worse for wear.
This was a really risky fight and there were times when Wilder looked ready to go IF the guy across from him could throw decent punches with speed and in bunches.
