Beating Lara would probably give him the same amount of credit as Sergio Martinez was given for beating Serhiy Dzinziruk - not a whole lot and something people forgot about entirely after a couple of weeks. The more time that passes the less impressive the victory looks.

But at the very least it would shut up guys like DirkUK from talking about Lara every single day

      Comparing Lara to Serhiy Dzinziruk?

You really have turned fully ******ed. People wouldn't forget about it because it would be GGG's best win. Martinez had already beaten Pavlik and sparked out Paul Williams. Dzinzurik was a lesser name on his resume.

        Who should Gennady fight?

I think Chris Eubank Jr or David Lemieux would be the best available opponents.
I think the question should be "WHO WILL FIGHT GENNADY NEXT?"

        BTW I picked DL.

Are you saying that's the way you feel or the way NSB would be? Either way, I disagree, I'm really high on both Lara and GGG and the winner of that should be looked at in a very positive manner.

Way more credit than the guy who will forever be seen as the guy who was embarrassed by Rubio and Alcine.

Dzinziruk, much like Lara, was a good 154 pound fighter, not the best in his division, but good nonetheless, just like Lara. Not a lot of people knew who Dzinziruk was besides hardcore fans and both had styles that were not exactly the most entertaining. Martinez was too big/too good for Dzinziruk and likewise, Golovkin is too big/too good for Lara.

Lara has a far better resume than Dzinzurik ever had. Stop it.

Lara would be better than some of the other possibilities, but I'm not sure HBO would go along with having him on.
