Honestly, would anyone on this website give GGG credit if he beat Lara and beat him convincingly??

I vote for degeale. no cotto-Lee-nelo-lara-ward-froch-lemiux-jacobs-quilin, then go up for a good fight and try to beat the guy. That would give him a name in his resume and automatically boost the hype for a GGG-Ward fight(Down the road, not next, based on Ward activity)

go back to 160, beat Cotto-Lee(yes, he'll beat saunders)-Lemiux and then you have the best middleweight vs the best super middleweight

5.28 - they don't want to fight DeGale.

More credit than he got for the other 33 on his resume.

It would be his best win by a million miles. No one is giving GGG credit for any of his current wins against the 30+ golf caddies he's been fighting. Lara is a world class skilled boxer.

It would also benefit his career. Lara took Canelo 12 rounds in a close fight where he arguably beat him on PPV. If GGG kills him, it will make people take real notice.

I don't see why anyone wouldn't... unless they're trolling. it'd be easily his best victory regardless of the weight.

More than half of the options are ruled out/unrealistic.

From your list Heiland, Eubank Jr, Soro, Wade, N'Dam are the only possible bouts. You could've added Johnson and Clottey.

Trout, Vanes, Lara are PBC/Haymon while Lemieux has been ruled out by Oscar. Hearn will be in no hurry to make DeGale-Golovkin and I doubt Loeffler is either.

you know Lemeuix and GBP are not fighting GGG next.
That's not going to happen either being Cotto & Canelo are fighting each other.

You'd think becoming mandatory to Cotto's belt would be enough but this is boxing.

With that said, Golovkin would take short money for Cotto and Canelo. The problem is they've never even got to the negotiation table with either guy.

But your solution of fighting some lower level 168 pound guy isn't any better than fighting some 160 contender or top 10 ranked available fighter. I don't see any real purpose of it other than "testing the waters" which will only move him further away from the Canelo/Cotto winner. The moment GGG moves up the excuses from Cotto/Canelo will be "Golovkin is a SMW, he needs to fight other top SMW like Ward, not me, I'm too small".

The situation with Ward & Lara are entirely different than Golovkin vs Lemieux. Reason being is that Golovkin and Lemieux are both middleweights, they both own a middleweight title, both can fight on HBO and there is no beef between their managers & promoters. The only reason this fight isn't happening is because team Lemieux don't want it right now. Obviously with Ward he's a division north and doesn't appear in a place to fight Golovkin even if both parties were on-board. The Ward fight is going to happen next year.

As for Lara, I don't think people are objecting to it, I certainly am not and in all honesty, that's the fight I want to see second behind a unification fight, I think people are just explaining WHY he's not fighting him right now not why he should't fight him.

No, Lara would immediately become a very small SWW that should never have moved up to fight GGG. You know how the game goes bro

I agree with this, but we know how people on this board are. They find excuses for EVERY SINGLE fight when they want someone to lose
